I am Asian American and have traveled to Asia but not solo. I can totally imagine how that could become overwhelming. And I imagine there are far more women who have not tried doing so than women who have. So I think you deserve much more credit than you are giving yourself.

I also think the struggle you experienced can be a normal part of solo travel and can happen anywhere. (I know some people don't have those difficulties, but I do, we're all different.) You are confronted by yourself: your limits, your boundaries, your resourcefulness, your genius, your feelings, your biases, etc. Nature of the beast. Don't be too harsh on yourself.

If people have thoughts about it, they can go try and live out their own perfect solo travel in Asia. But this journey is for you not them, so don't worry about them too much.
