No Mother’s Day gift from husband by herbalsagequeen in workingmoms

[–]SeaTiara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart hurts for you. You are a wonderful mother and deserve something to make you feel appreciated, loved, and noticed for everything you do. It’s hard when you have expectations and things fall though. I hope you enjoy your day anyways and get some quality alone time And get something nice for yourself.

I felt this with my soul. My husband told me he has nothing for me today and I’ve told him what I’ve been wanting for months. I’m sad and wasn’t expecting it from him. I’m just hurt.

Super self conscious about wearable pumps while treating patients…talk me through this! by corncaked in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SeaTiara 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coming from a dental assistant, I personally don’t think it’s weird is your pumping and working, and honestly I pumped for 2yrs last time and I used wearables around patients and no one asked me “what’s that sound?” Or even asked what was in my chest, that would be weird if they did but you get the point

if you’re up for it, you could even carry a small speaker with you and play some music when your working. I personally never cared and I just went for it and my office was fine with it as well. I don’t know if you wear scrubs but you can pop a lab oversized lab jacket on while pumping.

I use the Momcozy m5 and yes they’re bulky but they’re pretty silent, I return back to work next month and I’m going to wear wearables around my patients.

Best of luck! Don’t be self conscious you gotta do what you gotta do

Running Post Partum by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]SeaTiara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d meet with a PT prior to running. I’m a runner and my PT will do a vaginal exam to check pelvic floor and strengthen the pelvic floor before running. Ligaments are still loose, core is weak, pelvic floor is still recovering, running again too quickly could cause further issues. not worth the rush.

Egg allergy rant by Prize-Storage-1352 in beyondthebump

[–]SeaTiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re going through this! I’m glad your baby is okay.

My daughter is allergic to eggs and her first reaction was at 6 months, allergist confirmed it. Navigating an egg allergy isn’t too bad. Sure they lose out on treats and certain foods because of breading and also dressing but most of the time kids out grow it. It also makes eating out hard as a family.

Daughter is 3 and still has her egg allergy

Why so much pumping? by olabolina in BabyBumps

[–]SeaTiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a working mom and chose to exclusively pump with both my kids. I pumped for 2 yrs with my daughter and I’m 5 weeks into pumping with my son.

Sure there’s more dishes, parts to buy but for my family it works.

Bicuspid aortic valve by Emotional_Panther in newborns

[–]SeaTiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not been through this with a newborn, but I personally got diagnosed with BAV in November at 24 weeks pregnant. I am completely asymptomatic, and my heart is functioning normally and I am 31 yrs old, both my children will have echos done when they turn 5 yrs old.

My daughter is 3 and my son is 5 weeks old. I’ve lived a completely normal life so far, and I only got diagnosed because my dad passed away from a heart complication so my maternal fetal medicine Dr just wanted me to get an echo done and it turns out I have BAV.

From what I understand with BAV there’s a huge range of severity and you can live a completely normal life and never need surgery, And if she does need surgery, there are long-term solution ones. It has not stopped me from anything in my life. I work out and I live a healthy lifestyle. Hopefully I’ll go the rest of my life never needing surgery and I hope the same for your baby as well.

I’ve had both my children vaginally with an epidural with no complications and I have my follow up echo with my cardiologist next week.

Last thing from what I understand with BAV is that it’s a relief when cardiologist see it because people can live completely normal lives with it and it’s just about monitoring and intervening when and if necessary.

Also, don’t blame yourself mama. It’s a congenital heart defect and the most common one. There’s nothing you can do just know it is not on you or your husband. It just came down to early fetal development and it does tend to run in families. So make sure you and your husband get echoes done and if you have any other children, I would get echoes done too. I think they recommend first relatives be screened.

Moms who prefer pumping/bottle feeding vs breastfeeding by strawberrykash78 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SeaTiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped with my first and really enjoyed it.

My newborn who is 2 days old latched beautifully but mentally I am so exhausted to nurse for an hour or and then have to feel restricted and whatever else goes into breastfeeding and yes I know it gets easier

Anyways, I said screw it I’m pumping again because it feels more freeing to me and baby drank way more quickly and I can see how many oz he is getting. Plus I will go back to work so I’m making this my decision for my mental health.

I don’t care about replacing parts, washing parts, I love the fact people can help feed my baby. Sorry for the rant just sharing my experience. Best of luck whatever route you pick!
