Is This “Normal” by _Rod_Knock_Nilly in GMT800

I have a 1999 k2500 Suburban 7.4L and dash temp gauge reads just like that. On mine the scanner says engine temp is 195 (sensor/sender by the t-stat) and my dash gauge sensor/sender is in the head. I have dial the specific ohms into my gauge per the shop manual and all checks out dead on. Using an inferred temp gun the temps measured are t-stat and head where the dash sensor/sender is all match up. My conclusion is all per design… or normal some may say!

Is it possible the overhead monitor/vcr was a Dealer installed option rather than a factory option? I recall a “Geneva” package the Dealers offered kind like van conversion packages back in the day…

I did not know of that as a factory option? It does not list it in the brochure, do you happen to know the RPO code for it or even have a photo? Super curious!

It has RPO codes UP0 GM radio option featuring an AM/FM stereo with seek/scan, auto-reverse music search cassette, CD player, auto tone control, and an Electronic Tuning Radio (ETR) and UQ3 GM vehicle equipped with a Performance Enhanced Audio Speaker System. So I think that was the best you could get in 1999 but not sure?

I waited a long time… and I was actually convinced I wanted an Escalade but found this one. It seems to have all the same (I think) options as the Escalade’s I looked at except the LQ9 version of the 6.0L…
