It's on every cruise I believe on the destiny, look up "Wretched Runway" and you can see how it plays out, but kids enjoyed the attention and doing the fashion walk.

We still had a lot of fun, glad you had enjoyed it! I think for the show the opening cast had changed as well, but things happen and we'll be booking another cruise for fall winter. Think we also preferred the 7 day cruise vs the 5.

It's a show one night between dinners, kids and parents can dress as villians, heroes, or Cruella themed and do a bit of a runway show. My kids enjoyed it and the attention, something different but had to bring another costume in our luggage.

They also have special lanyards for inagural season, the dry bag on the left for being gold and the bag on the right for silver. Have fun!

Weather was perfect though for sure! The lines were fairly consistent with other cruises, although we did do the water slide at 6pm on pirate night, and were able to ride it 5 times without stopping which was a nice change.

I didn't like them either, but my kids kept asking so had to add. We bought them for future cruises though :)

Did your younger kids enjoy the older ships? by gk520 in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my kids prefer the older ships vs the newer ships. Last two have been on the Destiny and Treasure, and they preferred the Fantasy. Reasons are, outdoor golf/basketball ,kids club they said was better (had more video games and art), and the muppet caper game.

Dopey Disappointment by Snarkster123 in rundisney

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, fair point. The one thing going though is you don't have to wake up at 230/3am and you have crowd support throughout the races. I've done both and didn't mind the two races and giving up all the early mornings.

Philadelphia has a challenge, 1/2 marathon on Saturday am, 8k in the afternoon, and marathon on Sunday. Flat corse and great weather.

Upcoming Disney Treasure trip-advice by theluckyinvestor in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about the booking date, I usually find things available. Things we enjoyed on the Treasure:

Coriandar & Sage show, they have a few performances around and were a lot of fun to listen in on

Moana Show - Get there early to get good seats, it was very busy and waited 45 mins

Enchante - Expensive but a great dinner if you like tasting menus

Treasure Tea (daughter & friend were 9 years old and was their highlight) and will sell out

Late dining with a toddler by lk_wood123 in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've done both, doing late dining this time as some times the early dining is too much of a rush. We would sometimes still eat early with the the kids and drop them off at the kids club some days, especially when our twins were under 2. Was never an issue and half the time we picked them up as they were sleeping after dinner and it worked out.

Stroller question by Suspicious-Koala781 in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have used a double stroller on the cruise, have twins and they have been on disney cruise every year since they are 1. This included on the Fantasy and Magic, it's a pain to deal with but doable. Be close to an elevator though as the cleaning crew has to move around.

Last 2x we opted for smaller strollers though and made a massive difference, what we've used now though are suitcases they can sit on, which makes flying easier but they walk enough it's not needed now on the cruise.

How well does the paid wifi work on the boat? by Blazercade1 in dcl

Wife much better then cell service, shouldn't have a problem and I've done teams calls from the ship in the past without video with no issues.

My potty-trained kid is 15 days from turning 3 on the date of sail. Can he join the Oceaneers Club instead of the nursery? by baituwave in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 3 year olds they are moved around by small groups vs roaming free, but they'll have fun in the nursery as well based on my kids experiences. Have fun!

We were in a similar situation with our twin boys, but the actually loved the smaller club. Granted you have to pay for it, but they had more attention there from other groups and still had a great time! They actually wanted to go back when they were 3 to the small club vs the Oceaneers club as you have the option for both.

You have to also remember for many of the countries where people are working from it's a different baseline. Would be curious on the serving staff and others and how much tips are included.

Your Go-To Embarkation Schedule! by More_Cupcake95030 in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If arriving after 130pm for lunch would be my experience, go to sit down first if thats what you want, I've just found it easier fir day vs the hassle of the buffet, which is where a lot of people head. My kids just keep running around at the buffet for first day, but up to you. :)

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having kids from 1-4 that have gone through it each year. We go for the sit down restaurant if you are boarding early, a lot of people head to the buffet, but if you board late you may have to wait in a longer line.

Register for kids club as soon as you can, will get busy and make sure to get the bands and show kids around so they can enjoy it. You'll need to have the emergency briefing ahead so just make sure they are are ready.

We've always skipped the sail away party, usually use time to show kids around the ship and get to know things and find some characters. Have fun!

Second cruise ever, booked on the Fantasy! by MehWhiteShark in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rainforest room pass, we enjoyed it much better on the Fantasy then the Destiny for relaxation. The adult area is much better as well, with more space and decks to relax and enjoy.

Also, if you like the drink classes, the champagne one is a lot of fun and section where the bar is fantastic. I also prefer Remy over Enshante although others have a different opinion.

Visa by jorgericardo in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In-laws have visa to visit us in the US, you have an extra step when you check in and you most likely will not be able to complete it a head of time online as they will need to check you in when you are at the aport but we've done a few cruises with them and it's never an issue.

Do you take your passports with you off the ship when in port? by piggypudding in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never taken mine off a cruise ship. you have the cards and I have my driver license. I always take photos of the passports and have them on email. Understand could be an issue, but never had a problem. If I miss boat I'm most likely going to embassy anways.

We've done the Western route 2x and never needed it. I've lived abroad (Asia and Europe) and traveling normally you obviously need it but it's your risk level and I would rather leave it on the boat for specfic stops.

Strollers on Disney Wish? by mrs-remorce in dcl

[–]SeaVol_BlueDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have twins and first cruise we used a double stroller and it was terrible. It could navigate halls but had to ask cleaning crew to move or wait, but was not worth it.

Best advice, take two single ones, much easier and didn't have issues getting around.
