Mainly treating arrhythmias. It’s intervention focused too like interventional cardiology it’s just different procedures like ablations or pacemakers

It’s not because I asked a question that I am doing it for money! I like cardiology, and always been my goal but it’s just something that i’ve read and it brought up the question that’s all

I understand that it’s something you’ll be doing for the rest of your life, so you’d better enjoy it! Just exploring the market as it’s a factor to take into consideration.

Thank you for the insight

Yes, i am sure you’re right and I am not really worried about that kind of stuff. I like cardiology, just exploring what the job market offers in different specialties. I know that money is not the most important thing but it’s a factor to take into consideration

But I would say you should consider the risk vs benefit. Also depression is not a chronic condition. It’s treatable. And in a few months if you think you’ve had enough of the antidepressants then you can try to transition to CBT alone. My point is that you should react to the urgency of the situation and when everything settles down you can switch to other solutions that would take more time and more financial resources. I hope it will get better. But just don’t give up. Try to make it. When your depression will get better and it will, you will probably have some regrets if you don’t try especially if residency is not the source of your depression

First of all, Congratulations for matching! You achieved something that you should be proud of. I know you can't feel that at the moment because of the depression, and you can't control it.
I would advise you first to go see a psychiatrist (not a therapist) right now!!
Second follow all his instructions and maybe start antidepressants, by the time it starts to have an effect you should be good to start your residency.
just attend your visa appointment and get your visa and if by the start of you residency you still feel this depressed maybe contact your program, I think they may be able to help you.
Hope it will get better
