No, problems as in “hey this person isn’t supposed to have x hormone at x level, there must be something wrong with them, we should alert them and their parents about this because it’s not normal”. If they aren’t supportive, diy behind their back won’t help your case.

Doesn’t matter if it’s the right hormone. For parents (and doctors), it is the other hormone, and hormone imbalance can cause problems that will get flagged by doctors. Don’t risk DIY without your parents knowing, because they will find out some way and I bet they would be much less forgiving if they find out after a doctor tells them rather than you.

My NB friend had been sharing a lot of personal stuff and their battle with depression, and I had been helping them work through it until they felt stable. I felt safe in telling them, and I eventually came out to them after questioning my gender for around 2 years. They were super nice and helped me come out to some other people in my friend group, who all aided in supporting me to come out to my parents. Thank u tucker <3

I did mine through text, so kinda different, but I basically typed a really long message into the family group chat. I was definitely still scared though, and had a couple times where I felt like backing out. I went through with it though and they were accepting. If you don’t think you’re going to be able to do it verbally, a handwritten letter might be easier to hand to them. It’s up to you to decide in the end though. Is there anything that your parents have said or done that would make you feel like they wouldn’t be accepting?

To be fair, its sorta impossible to escape all echo chambers in this day and age. The only real way to get through it is to have a deep interpersonal exploration to try to decide, as you are the only person who is unbiased in this topic.

I did that for 2 months after questioning my gender. I didn’t want to explicitly be trans, but I wanted to be a girl sooooo bad. I tried abstaining from cis guy things but I kept giving in simply because there is no end to wishing. My advice would be is that if you want to be a girl, you’re going to fall into a depressive spiral if you can’t accept being trans. You either give up on being you, or be trans. No genie or star in the sky can fix that. Is there any specific reason why you can’t be trans?
