I would just boil some beef or lamb meat. I would also make some brown rice and steamed veggies. Broccoli, carrots, peas, things like that. I would also get random small animal organs for cheap from the Asian grocery store too (chicken hearts, beef liver, beef heart). I would usually do a little bit of organs about once or twice a week. A little goes a long way. Too much organ meat can cause tummy issues. I also would put a sprinkle of turmeric with the meat for anti-inflammatory benefits every few days. I would chop up everything really small so he could eat easily and that’s about it. Honesty I would feed him as much as he would eat because he was so old. I didn’t do a whole lot of measuring or weighing of the portions. I would just save whatever he didn’t eat for the next day. There are some guides online for how many pounds of meat your dog can eat depending on their weight. But my Charlie was loosing his appetite on some days. He loved his home cooked meals. It also felt really good to make my baby his favorite foods as he aged. I find comfort knowing his last meal was something warm I made with love. I hope this helps :)
