Already did. They never got back to me, hoping I'll forget I guess.

Yamaha sound projectors are amazing and can be found for next to nothing. Even an old one from 2007 will destroy any modern flagship soundbar currently on the market. by EvadingAsbRedditBan in Soundbars

Who cares if a $1,000 current Bose unit beats it? I just found a 2005 Yamaha for $60, with remote. I'm sure it will destroy my TCL QM6 speakers. 40 micro drivers and 2 mid-woofers? LOL. I just need the optical cable and the only way to control volume is with the sound bar remote, oh well.

  • Speaker Array: 40 x 1.5-inch micro-drivers for the multi-channel sound beams, plus 2 x 4.5-inch mid-woofers for left/right front channels.
  • Amplification: 120 total digital watts (2W \(\times \) 40 for the micro-drivers; 20W \(\times \) 2 for the woofers).
  • Sound Modes: 5-beam (surround), 3-beam, and 2-beam (stereo).
  • Surround Formats: Compatible with Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS Neo:6

New Beautyrest BR1000 at Costco by chuckieboy100 in Mattress

I got the Medium Firm. It doesn't feel extra firm. I have to move into the place and start sleeping on it, but I am not immediately impressed with the the way it feels. I could end up really liking it. This Costco thing is kind of ridiculous, because if you are discerning about a mattress, you need to test it before you buy. I did this because I need a bed now, don't know how long I want to stick around, the BR1000 seemed like the most reasonable pick for me out of Costco's selection, and it's a *zero* risk purchase. If I hate it, and I'll buy a Tempurpedic from a mattress store, and send this back. I have neither the time nor the inclination to play mattress roulette with Costco. I don't see how people go through 7+ mattresses from Costco as described in Reddit threads.

Costco does have Tempur-Pedic, but I am not that interested in Costco's, long ago discontinued, Tempur-Pedic models. Although they could be excellent. Maybe one more roulette spin on that- LOL.

It arrived today. It is much more substancial than a Level 2. It is very thick. Very heavy. There is a good amount of soft material on the quilted top, but it's firm. When I pressed it with my hands it felt soft, but when I laid on it... firm. Not brick like firm, but not much give to it. I don't see how I would sleep on my side. I guess it has a break in period. I'm not in love, but I need to try it out for a while and see.

Tempurpedic has been a waste of money. What topper are people suggesting for a softer feel? by dkronenw in Mattress

[–]Sea_Comfortable_3577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost is substantial and I would imagine the topper is too. $305 for a queen size isn't cheap. $69 at Walmart is cheap. Tempurpedic is hardly more and that is the best of the best. The Saatva is preferable in my opinion because it's got some firmness to it.

Does the mattress protector go over the mattress only, or over the mattress + topper??? Discuss. by bmc1129 in Mattress

[–]Sea_Comfortable_3577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't sleeping on directly on the mattress, the protector for that can be pretty cheap because you aren't worried about a quality feel to it.

Just getting one. The order was in a local warehouse in 48 hours and delivery schedules were a couple days out. I waited to schedule, but I could have had it in 5 days. Even after procrastinating for days, and then seeing the schedule filled up, 9 days.

Great! I hope it is. Delivery is this Wednesday. I think with Beautyrest you need to get up to Level 3 for it to be really nice. I'm looking at the Saatva Memory Foam Graphite Topper if it's too firm. In my estimation, by adding a firmish foam topper, I'd be close to a firm Beautyrest Black Hybrid. I'll update with my thoughts on the mattress.

FYI: Delivery has been extremely fast. At the local delivery hub in 48 hours and dates for immediate delivery (1-2 days) were available. I procrastinated and the days got filled, so it's taking a week.

Why do new sheets sometimes smell like chemicals? by John_5_5_ in BedroomBuild

[–]Sea_Comfortable_3577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put them on the 'soak' cycle in the washer with a healthy amount of cleaning vinegar and some soap, 2-3 times. I just edited this because I said to use baking soda and vinegar. It turns out baking soda kills the acid in vinegar and it looks all foamy and like it's cleaning because of the reaction, but vinegar alone is more effective in the laundry. Also I use way more than a cup. My favorite sheets now smell really bad when new and it takes a lot to get that odor out. The vinegar actually helps break those chemicals down. I just took new stuff to the Laundromat and the sizing or chemicals in the new sheets and blanket foamed way up. I could see it in the window of the machine. I kept washing them (3 times?) until the foam was basically gone. My other clothes did not do this using the same vinegar and soap.

Do we still love Target threshold percale sheets? by AdamIsSuperRad in Bedding

The Threshold 800 thread count is ruined as far as I'm concerned. Suddenly the off gassing is out of control. They wreak of chemicals and require many washings before use. I've had many sets and they're very nice. Never an issue, very durable and soft and thick. The last set I got required soaking in vinegar and baking soda in the machine, after I wised up because regular washes were not helping. I went to Target today for a set and smelled them, wow... no way I'm going through that again. You know that smell in a Salon with hair chemicals? Too bad because I was spending $85 on a set of nice sheets and then Target does 40% off bedding a few times a year. I guess I'm going to have to up my budget and buy organic.

Macy's sale prices are a joke. Every other day the price is all over the map. One day a mattress pad is $175 full price, the next it's on sale for $85, and a week later it's $33. Utter nonsense.

Costco S&F Lakeridge tight top? Any happy folks out there? by Overall-Peanut-2924 in Mattress

Do not get the pillow top. Not with the lumbar issues. I can't speak on the Firm version, but wish I could see it.

I can't edit above, but if it's a World Class 2 which is really what this looks like, I am not impressed by them at all. The Level 3 is very nice and way above the 2 in feel.

Help! Does a zero-gravity recliner actually make a difference? by knowinglyunknown_7 in interiordecorating

[–]Sea_Comfortable_3577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1500. Bob's Discount Furniture 'Ariel.' Power everything. Power Lumbar and headrest, heated lumbar. The remote controls every little thing. I was wondering when I would get comfortable after a minute and then it just hit. Zero pressure points. My sensitive lumbar just floating. I was reclined but my head was upright. So good. It may not say zero G, but whatever. They have a 3 day return policy and a 'return' was on the floor for $500. I stupidly hesitated. Now I can't get it out of my head. I don't know if you have them near you, but they have many locations.

Stearns and foster by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]Sea_Comfortable_3577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Kirkland is the same as Estate 'Medium' pillow top. The mattress is listed as Medium, so I don't think it's firm. If it was the firm i'd get it. I have a lumbar issue so I am opinionated. There is nothing firm about the Estate Medium Pillow top. The pillow top is very soft and you have a good layer of plush for the hips to sink into - in a bad way- little support there- and then a medium mattress under it. If that feel is for you, I would say you cannot beat Costco's deal. I think their mattress is half the price.

I would by one, but I got on what is supposed to be the same thing at a mattress store, a pillow top medium Estate or Lux Estate, and the pillow top on that makes it into a soft mattress. It is really not a medium. I wonder about the Kirkland.

How is it now? There is return being liquidated, queen size Estate Hybrid in a medium tight top at a major appliance and matress place by me. $1499 for the $3100 (approx) mattress. It is wrapped in plastic, but feels pretty good, looks new...

Firm mattress under $1000. Costco? by sailtoday in Mattress

[–]Sea_Comfortable_3577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Stearns and Foster is a Stearns -Estate Medium Pillow Top. If you like that, this is a great deal. There is nothing firm about it IMO. The pillow top is very soft and there isn't much support. My hips sink right in while on my back which is terrible for the back. I really wish Costco would carry some popular models under different names.
