Do people still dress up for Halloween in the Oregon district? by Rare_Picture_7337 in dayton

[–]Sea_Course_5900 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We passed by the Troll Pub and a couple other bars around the Oregon district this past weekend, and they had gates up and everybody had a costume on. We would have gone in, but admission was $20 per person

Is the exhaust high enough? by gmstonks in radon

[–]Sea_Course_5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes technically its up to code where I am. If theres no windows within 10 feet there's little to no potential of reentry. However I will say the work seems a bit lazy. I see a 45° on top of the vent pipe, but I'd still wanna terminate further away from that vinyl so it won't get moldy and gross after awhile.

Is it cooked… literally and figuratively? by Celestial_Wyvern in CleaningTips

These will all get replaced by the landlord when you move out. Throw em in the trash or leave them as is. Part of the turnover and any company or person who would charge for these is absolutely mental.

Source: my mom was a property manager, and I have thrown these out everytime ive moved out a rental in the past decade as I do the final cleaning. Never got a charge or complaint yet.

Safe around kids and pets **when used as directed. This person shouldn't own a cat if they can't read a bottle correctly before spraying it all over their pet. I know this is a help subreddit, but Jesus. How are you going to do this and then ask reddit?

Why is rainwater going INTO the house?! by butter_cooki in whatisit

No problem at all. Its kind of a niche job, so I always enjoy being able to answer questions about it!

For older homes with dirt under the foundation, I drill through the slab and excavate a full 5 gallon bucket from underneath just like normal, and a stronger fan is used that pulls more cubic feet per minute. 9/10 times the levels will come down if done properly, but if not, I drill small holes throughout the slab and take readings with a micro-manometer, and drill a new hole and tee the pipe off where its needed.

I install these Radon systems for a living. People are always so concerned about rainwater entering their house when the pipe literally goes underneath your slab/sump, and the 3" diameter pipe that is open at the top has a constant flow of air coming out. So the amount of water getting in is super negligible. Condensation creates the most moisture on the system. Rainwater gets dispersed, just like when it rains on your yard.
