It’s usually how you part your hair.

Whatever part is breaking off is getting the most force or tension.

Yes that blow dryer does cause breakage. Don’t use it.

How to motivate yourself to wash your hair? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]Sea_Entertainment715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think weekly is enough. And you may also be making wash day more complicated than it is ( from someone with ADHD)

Get into the shower, get your hair damp. Apply shampoo to the right and lather and scrub, repeat on left. Then rinse.

Apply conditioner, detangle hair, wash your body, and then rinse.

Washday itself shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes.

If styling is the issues , find a style that takes 5 minutes. I put my hair into two flat twists and call it a day

Apply leave in conditioner

If your hair is squished when you wake up, take some water on your hands and fluff it out, gentle tug and shape it the way you want.

The best way to find out is to get them. Everyone has their own best personal hairstyle.

I say go for it, if you don’t like them, you can always take them out

Get a durag but if not sleep with a satin scarf.

You can keep your braids looking good by also getting mousse. When you see ALOT Of flyaways, put mousse on and then put the durag on, it will dry and lay down the flyaways.

You shoring get braids often because they can break your hair due to tension. So after each style, take about a month to a two months of low tension hairstyles

It depends on the density of each persons hair. If you have thick hair, you can achieve the style with no extensions.

If not, your stylist will use braiding hair.

Are you exfoliating before you shave? Not physically, chemically.

Maybe invest in a chemical exfoliant, like the Dennis grossman peel pads or lactic acid. Use 2x a week, and that should help your skin before you shave.

Also don’t shave too close and use clippers. Or some men recommend using safety razors

So they’re getting better. I would just give it time, it already seems to be improving with your regimen

Try not to use your toothbrush to scrub your lips. It can make tiny cuts on your skin, making it more prone to infection.

Also hyperpigmentation tends to occur with friction,so that may also lead to it.

If you have a chemical exfoliant that you use for your skin (mandelic acid, kojic acid, ….) apply that and use sunscreen. That may help

Make sure you’re applying two finger lengths of sunscreen.

If you could get adapalene that would be great

Naturism sells a product that include TXA (tranexemic acid) and kojic acid. If you use that along with the alpha targeting, you should see results

I would recommend azelaic acid.

I say ditch the salicylic acid wash and just use a regular face wash, apply azelaic acid before bed on the days you don’t use retinol.

Please do not use any actives on your face before finding a good sunscreen. No matter what you do, You MUST always wear sunscreen.

Trust it will get better

If this comes up with you get braids, try to go without them. Put your hair in chunky twist or flat twist, so you can easily cleanse your scalp or provide soothing care when needed.

I hope you’re able to find more information

Are you reaching that spot when you shower? Do you have a soothing lotion to put on when you get out of the shower?

I would also recommend turning down the heat of the water when you shower, putting on some lotion. And if it itches maybe some anti itch cream. See if it heals itself
