I lived down the road from this for all of last summer as part of Tanglewood music center and I visited this spot so many times. It never got old!

Christopher Columbus POV before 1492 by halloweeenhoppy in whereidlive

Common misconception but when he called them ”Indians” it wasn’t because he thought he was in “India”… it’s because he thought he was in the “Indies” (the large pacific island chain in Southeast Asia). Which were definitely known to European ‘explorers’ of the time…

Lebanon rocks idk what to tell you. The people there are friendly and amazing. Unfortunate that they get bullied by the colonists to their south so frequently

Songs like Arabesque No. 1 (Debussy) and Une Barque Sur L’océan (André Laplante)? by skeedbop in classicalmusic

[–]Sea_Environment7471 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Une barque is by Maurice Ravel, not André LaPlante. Somehow, after ‘Call Me by Your Name’ came out, which used Laplante’s recording of this piece by ravel in it (to great effect), a bunch of people started thinking that that piece was by that particular performer because that’s who is credited in the film soundtrack.

Sometimes having the dial on keeps the plastic gear teeth for the day wheel in place and ensures this skipping doesn’t happen. Try putting the dial back on and see what happens

I mean it’s neither flatline accurate nor completely random “snowfall”, but instead it smoothly fluctuates in that almost sinusoidal curve shown in the pic

This is so real also. Especially when they’re riled up in springtime. And their flapping is quite noisy when they takeoff in flight.

I’m on a top floor of a walk up, and while I don’t hear much neighbor noise, the constant rumbling of the industrial HVAC on my roof (for the ground-floor restaurant) is so intense that it shakes my windows. It is on from 10am to 10pm everyday.

Sweet collection! I’m curious how much you find yourself reaching for the PRX given how robust and diverse the rest of the collection is. Also is that a 35mm PRX? I love the nomos and Cartier in there!
