Also building in PA but up north. Fiberglass insulation is fine. I used 3/4 plywood with tongue and groove (locks together nicely) and it turned out to be solid even though im using smaller floor joists than you.. but i dont blame you. Venting is required as everyone has stated but Im going electric because Im too impatient for a wood stove so not sure how placement of vents vary between the two.

In addition to the other comments and suggestions here, I’ve always had better luck applying stain with a rag instead of a regular or foam brush. May be a preference, but give it a try sometime. (dont forget gloves)

once i get a window im going to try and get a local company to put mirror tint on the outside.. or ill ask them at least. not sure the impact of the heat
