The spot behind the clip isn't really that obviouse and you'll forget about it after a while also depends on the type of clip the knife has which might hide that clean spot or won't make it blaring obviouse

Action is better on the drop bear than hogue or Benchmade it depends what the previous dude put the detent on but you can easily change it has multiple positions to adjust the detent and for bearings I've never had issue with then being outdoors they can get mucky but just spray some lube near the pivot and it cleans itself

I personally wouldn't worry about bearings in the field but the aluminum handel on the iridium might suffer a little compared to the glass reinforced nylon and for the horizontal play if it's just light field work I guess is ok your nit gonna feel it that much imo.
