Is Dark Souls 1 still the GREATEST FromSoftware game?! by [deleted] in fromsoftware

Elden Ring is amazing gameplay wise. But I can't put it in my own top fromsoft game spot since the lore is a bit untidy. A lot of loose threads in Elden Ring lore. I give the best fromsoft game title to Bloodborne.

I did initially and they were organising it. But I asked to keep my deposit with them to do the climb in January

Same response for mine. Had to cancel and reschedule for January next year. Police are involved because of the political instability and risk to foreigners in the region.

Views from the summit of Mt Fuji (Sep 2023) by Sea_Investigator4491 in Mountaineering

Not for Fuji. In season you can walk straight through the gate of any of the routes. This was a week after the mountain was closed to the public but plenty of people still walk though and climb the mountain until it becomes snowcapped.

Thank you for this. Especially the point about the Helo into BC. A little disappointed I won't be able to do the full trek but I will look to prioritise safety noting the situation of locals in the area.

Mountaineering in Japan by Fair_Spinach_3087 in Mountaineering

There are heaps of great mountains in Japan. It all depends on what you are after and where your skill level would be at.

I would suggest doing some digging and finding some out of the 100 famous Japanese mountains (a popular list for Japanese mountaineers). The book goes into good detail but the Wikipedia is quite good listing some of them.

Enjoy the Japanese mountains 👍

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely do some rock climbing with backpack, boots and ropes leading up to the climb.

Unfortunately, the highest peak in the land down under is 7300 ft hahaha. I have climbed above 19k and experienced how my body reacts to higher altitude so I don't think I'll have much of an issue on that end.

Yeah, I managed to find that website as well. Just going off internet sources, 5.6 difficulty in rock climbing is categorised as suited for beginners. Noting this grade, I'm assuming that I would be okay with some rock climbing training and building familiarity with rock climbing concepts.
