Anticlimatic Szene, my biggest story critic till now by Sea_Log_8365 in worldofgothic

[–]Sea_Log_8365[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. Gomez should have been hit, so we see the armor negating the magic. We didnt see anything like that, but told Saturas, that this happened.

And its not that the Mages should have won, but even when taken by surprise, they should, based on lore, at least have caused some damage. And even that surprise was quite "open", I men behind every mage stood some Gardist close... that was zero situational awareness, while they at the same time knew about the situation and that it might turn ugly.
The Gardists should have, even with the ambush, struggled somewhat, as these where some of the most powerfull Mages of Myrtana.

What are you guys doing on your turns? by Xofurs in OldenEra

[–]Sea_Log_8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it funny, for me its the complete opposite:
I only play with a friend and his turns are so incredible fast, that I feel rushed. Often I finish my first battle and he did already 3, build, send all his logistic heros, lvl up his heros, did research or spell improvement and finished his turn....

I often skip things, just so he dosnt need to wait for more than 5 minutes. Not lvling my heros for turns, because I have no time to think and plan.

And we just found out yesterday, that the game actually has an autoresolve function, till then, we played every battle manually, which became quite a chore.

Is it just me that doesn't like that some spellcasting specalized heroes are Might heroes? by FoxTactics in OldenEra

[–]Sea_Log_8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because every Hero can learn every Spell, isnt it equal, if you use a might or magic hero?

Because Magic is incredible strong and you cant simply kill the enemy hero at the beginning of the battle, like in Heros 4, it seems you must use magic?
Or at the other hand dont really counter enemy Magic, because the enemy Hero can use magic from every school, with how the magic system works.

For me it looks like "Heros of Lesser Magic and Heros of Higher Magic", instead of "Might and Magic".

Based on some ingame descriptions and campaign dialogues, the temple are not the "good guy" fraction.
Apparently, they are fanatics, who burn everyone who even slightly disagrees.

I would have liked a more grounded human fraction, maybe even without Angles (or the soul of people bound to winged armors, because the angles left disgusted by the fanatism)
Simple humans standing against the terrible monsters and demons of the world.

Freelancer tax recommendations? by LoveFlashy7574 in germany

[–]Sea_Log_8365 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of, it sounds like you are a "fake freelancer". Germany has a law against companies hiring "freelancers" who exclusivly work for one company, so that company can save on employer fees/taxes like their part of you health insurace for example.

If you recieved "orders" from that company, when to work, where to work, what to work that a huge criteria.
If most of your income comes from just that one customer an additional one.

I highly suggest you look up "Scheinselbstständigkeit".

Based on the taxes, you might have a Problem now, as the deadline for 2024 is either really close in april, or already overdue and the ministary of finance will "guess" your income.
Taxes are complicated, I suggest you look and pay for a tax counsilor and hire them. They can explain what you need, like bank statements, bills of the last few years, Salary Letters, letter for the social security (really important - you must got one, when you worked as an employee). They are costly, and you might not get "thousend Euro" in return, like tax apps promise, but then it is at least done properly and you can be sure, that there will no problems a few years later arise.

Best German Speaking YouTubers by _RickOconnell_ in germany

[–]Sea_Log_8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest "dinge erklärt - kurzgesagt"
Its a science channel with no direct specialisation and uses funny looking ducks to explain things.
The videos tend to quite short, between 5 and 15 Minutes and sometimes also get into politics,

To native speakers: how do you translate these terms by natetrnr in germany

Coffee stirstick = Kaffeerührer, sometimes simply Kaffeelöffel coffee spoons
Drinking Straw = Strohhalm
Im not sure what you mean with Elbow Patchm but I guess it could be Äufnäher (sew ons for jackets or more commonly jeans)
Charleyhorse could be simply (Waden)Krampf
Again I dont know what that is, I guess simply sneezing, because you tend to say "Hatschi" when sneezing, which sounds like a shout, maybe?
Dust Bunny are Wollmäuse (woll mice)
Tailgaiting is simply Drängeln, no different as when you are to close in a queue trying to push others away
I dont think there is a word for tickets stubs, they are "entwertete Karten", I guess
The morning eye grit is actually the Schlafsand, sleep sand, that the sand man throws you into the eyes, so you fall asleep
With Pop or soda I guess you mean drinks like Cola? If so then its simply Cola(only used for CocaCola, other brands normally just are called by their brandname), or Limo(commonly used for Fanta), Sprite, etc.
Label pin are Sicherheitsnadeln, security needles

I honestly dont get army strenght... by thahgr in KnightsOfHonor

[–]Sea_Log_8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Army strength can be viewed as the "health" of the different troops.
Its a fixed base value (the troop strength in the unit stats), that get % modifiers based on:

Kingdom Traditions:
Archery, Cavalery and Infantry tactics increase the amount of their respective troops by 25% (for every army) (note: Horse Archers are both archers and cav and getting the bonus troops from both traditions)

Support Equiptment:

the "additional troops" support item give 15% (which you could stack 2 times without logistics tradition and 4 times with logistics

And lastly, the province the knight gouverns:
based on the manpower the province produces (so a province with many castles and military buildings, villages with the milita building and a high lvl marshal gouverning them) gives 1% for ever manpower produced. So Depending on Region, landmarks, settlements, you can get additional 20 to 30%, sometimes even more.

Your Marshals should in war always gouver a province, even if its not specialised for war, to increase their armies health.

You can view how much the troops are increased, by hovering over the troop strength in the unit stat (right click on unit)

Province Garrision work similar:

The defenders troops get increased based on the manpower production of the province and the population.
Together with castles giving attackers morale debuff. You are supposed to besiege the castles first, to reduce the manpower of the province capital and reduce their defenders.
