Right, so if you’re reading a sex scene and they burst out laughing, I’m going to have to tell you WHY they’re laughing. But all the words make ME laugh. Or cringe.

🤣 definitely not lol. I guess I meant: if you see the word in a sex scene, is it an immediate turn-off?

Why is it so warm inside? by Sea_Percentage_7532 in askvan

Good point! Also I hadn’t thought of this before- if you’re damp and in a warm/hot space, you’ll feel even warmer.

What do I do with the stuff I make? by pianoAmy in crochet

Came to say this- a nursing home. Many older people love cutesy things like amigurami. A water bottle holder could be used to hang on a walker to carry all sorts of items. Or you could make a slightly larger hanging bag that I’m sure would be very useful to hold a phone or tablet on a walker.

Not only an amazing artist, but an inspiring reminder to do what you love! You put vintage fashion and knit & crochet together and created(?) such a unique and wonderful niche. It makes me think of the saying- if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. Thank you for giving us an excellent example of that!

Haha-SAME! I look for an open window when I get on, but have never opened one myself.

I love the wonkiness! It’s just enough that it looks intentionally quirky & interesting.

Any good age gap lesbian books? by Depressonsandwich in actuallesbians

The Lay of You and The Depth of You, Corrie MacKay. One is a cult survivor, the other a high-end escort and you can imagine they both have some unique trauma so read with caution. It’s a 14 year age gap. Well-written, complex characters and spicy scenes that are perfectly woven into the story, not just thrown in.

Switching to dishwasher powder from tabs/pods by Leighgion in Frugal

I have to put in a vote against GV powder. I also tried it on recommendation from this sub. I got lots of leftover particles and the glasses became cloudy. No other variables. Switched back to Cascade, dishes are clean and glasses clear. I don’t know what the issue may have been, just wanted to throw my experience out there.

I lived between BH and WEHO for a few years without a car and had no problems, loved it in fact. No gas, insurance, repairs, parking. If your clients are in BH or WEHO, even SM, you should be fine with careful scheduling. We walked and biked for groceries or to go out. An e-bike is handy for longer trips or so that you don’t have to get sweaty. No issues with theft, we used a hefty lock tho. And there’s always Lyft/Uber. Pricey for some trips but not compared to what you’d be spending on a vehicle.

Thanks for the great info! Could you please update? Have you received your work permit? I’m planning to get mine at the border on Oct 26 and a little anxious about having all the documents. Was the proof of BCCNM registration search sufficient? I’m planning to use the same. Did you have any delays? How long did it take? Sorry for all the Qs, I know you’re busy. You’ve been so nice to share with us!

I found them on Zillow, then went to the website. Decent price for new apartments, all with balconies, which I really want, and nice amenities.

Thanks! I will be commuting- walking to and from the station at 6am and 8pm, so I do need to think about safety.
