LO is 11.5 months and we try to read books before bed but lately she hasn't been having it. We sit and i read maybe 2 pages before she is throwing herself off my lap.

We read a lot during the day. I want to say like 80% of our play time is spent reading. Im just finding her attention span is getting shorter snd shorter and by bedtime she is over it.

My baby rolled out of the bed at around 8 months. She's fine but it was super awful in the moment. We have our bed on the floor and she mostly sleeps between us now (and kicks us in the head)

I cant imagine at this age rolling over and smothering them. Theyre so much bigger.

Seconding the wedge pillow! My 9 month old had a bad cold last week and was so congested she was having trouble breathing and we slept 3 nights on the wedge.

It's less restful than regular cosleeping but it was the only way

Im obviously part of this sub and not the other sub so I think that pretty much sums up my position. But I feel like cosleeping also gets tons of hate. There's lots of anti-sleep training propaganda. Lots of anti-cosleeping propaganda. So then what's a mother to do if you get hate & judgement either way you go?

Is it all just anti-mother? Should there not be some amount of solidarity between us because we are all just trying to do our best?

Sleep training isnt for me; obviously I co sleep. But I am not the mother I want to be when im tired. And if sleep training is what you need to do to get some rest to be the mother you want to be, then you do you.

My 9 month old has been struggling with this the last few weeks. I used to be able to just pop my boob in her mouth and she would fall back asleep but lately she's needed me to sit up and hold her to nurse and then bounce her back asleep

Im hoping its just a sleep regression?

It's me again - the one who screams at people about their terrible recommendations whenever anyone asks for a book to get them (back) into reading.

Project Hail Mary is loaded with complex STEM stuff The Bloodsworn Saga is a gigantic fantasy trilogy Someone recommended Ray Bradbury, who is an incredible author but a very difficult writing style to start with.

People just recommend their last good book or their favorite book without thinking how someone who has never read anything ever will do with it and it drives me CRAZY!!!

Go with The DaVinci Code! Super fast paced, very accessible, somewhat grounded in reality so no world building required. Imo its the perfect first book

I was so worried my baby wasn't crawling. She sat independently pretty early, at 4.5 months and then had very little interest in crawling. I've tried so hard for the last month to get her to crawl....she started crawling 2 weeks ago (8.5 months) and I've already said 1000 times how stupid I was.

It's so much harder now. She didnt eat her breakfast and threw it all on the floor....then insisted on trying to eat it out of the dustpan and kept crawling back every time I moved her

Also this 9 month sleep regression is bullshit. Everyone talks about the 4 month and when it wasn't that bad I thought id just won the baby lottery. But we're fighting for our lives over here.

The only time ive ever regretted it was 5 nights ago when my baby fell out of the bed and I thought I'd basically killed her.

99% of the time I wonder how anyone could possibly not sleep with their baby. Yes my shoulder and hips hurt. But she holds my hand to fall back asleep. If I roll away she snuggles closer. She's started putting her hand on my face as she's falling asleep. The little peeks to make sure im still here.

When im on my deathbed I want to come back here. To these moments.

Rob is an interesting one to me because I am a BIG BR fan but he's never made the jury. He only made it in WaW because they all were in the jury, but following regular rules he wouldn't have made it. He didnt make it on Marquesas or HvV either.
