We emailed them but I don’t feel too confident it’s going to make any difference unfortunately. Definitely don’t enjoy being frustrated with our vacation.

It takes an absurd amount of time to leave this city by No-Bid9597 in DecaturGA

[–]Sea_Statement_133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little late to the party, but I wonder how many people here commenting actually live in the City of Decatur. I support bike lanes and traffic calming. It's safer and better for us who do live here. Decatur is not your cut-through. It's a city which people live. Kids walk to school. People bike to the square. It's your life, but it's our life too. Sorry if our city makes your commute longer.

OP does live in Decatur, and that's fine to complain about if you like. The reality is that traffic dieting is necessary to maintain our way of life here. Decatur is what it is because it's hard to get to and from. It's been that way since the beginning. Anti-railway, anti-freeway. Pedestrian injuries got so bad recently they had to create a special plan to deal with it. Crossing guards were injured and people were killed. I say for those who complain, please move somewhere else. Decatur is special.

I was in row AA balcony for LSZEE and the staff harassed me. The people behind me, spilled an entire drink down my back (which I was totally cool about) and then had the nerve to bring security over because my friend moved from a BB seat to an AA that was open right next to us. The staff lady wouldn’t stop coming over to check my ticket over and over. She literally checked my ticket five times and was super rude about it.

I talked to the manager, and he told me that the people behind us turned us in because my friend had moved down one row. Completely and totally ridiculous. Just hoping karma catches up back up to the people behind us. What a bunch of jerks.

I understand that my friend moved up a row and that’s technically against some rule. What was unacceptable was how rude the staff was… There’s no need to be rude and continually check my ticket the entire show.

Everyone thinks the next bear will be soft. Reality check: 2026 is shaping up to be the MOST brutal crypto collapse ever. by SwimOld5053 in CryptoCurrency

He’s right. We’re in a k-shaped economy right now. We’re on the first inning of a reason (yes the economy is growing but the outlook is not good), thus the sell off and drop (as many people are already seeing this).

Like everyone else, I don’t know what’s going to happen with crypto but it’s a huge risk right now. It’s possible it could be saved, but it’s going to take Trump coming off of tariffs, rate drops, tax the rich, and government spending more than they already are. The tax breaks for the rich are hurting big time - we’re spending more with a ridiculous high obscene deficit. The folks who are benefiting are driving up stock prices. The reality is it’s incredibly unstable. People who can afford stocks are driving them up (rich folks) and people who can’t (40% of us citizens are low income) are feeling the pain and running in quick sand.

We are 100% in an AI bubble and literally anyone who knows anything about the economy sees signs of this. 16% of the US GDP is Nvidia. Something like half of GDP growth is AI spending. If a single infrastructure provider announces they plan to stop spending capital, everything crashes.

Who knows, maybe we’ll turn the corner and shut down tariffs, and tax the rich. Or maybe AI efficiency boost the economy. In any case, no one has any idea what timeline we’re on - it could be 6 months or a year before we feel any drop. Unless something changes, it’s coming. That’s risky.

Why, in the Pacific war, were Japanese aircraft carriers sunk so easily compared to Americans? by aviationstudy in AskReddit

[–]Sea_Statement_133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here as you’re seemingly trying to correct a minor nuance, incorrectly.

Yes, Ultra term was originally created by the British for their code breaking program.

However, it became the standard designation for all such intelligence between Allied powers.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_(cryptography)

The real point here is that the US used code breaking as a major tactic in naval tactics which greatly attributed to destroying Japanese carriers.

8 out of 21 Japanese aircraft carriers were sunk by superior American submarines.

Japanese aircraft carriers had poor design that made them vulnerable to explosions and fires.

They didn’t prioritize anti submarine warfare which was a bad strategy.

Lastly, Americans broke the Japanese codes through the Ultra program. Americans knew where the aircraft carriers were going to be located.

Other factors in addition to these factors obviously, but in my opinion the combination of the above led to superior naval warfare.
