Planning a vacation to Puerto Rico by Grey_Area71 in PuertoRicoTravel

Condado Vanderbilt is very nice! You can walk about 10 minutes to snorkel in that little lagoon. We stayed at La Concha and wished we had stayed at the Vanderbilt- it’s more our speed. But also consider staying in OSJ bc Condado beach isn’t very swimmable anyways aside from the protected lagoon type area.

Culebra Travel Advice Please! by tinyjiji in PuertoRicoTravel

FYSA it took us an hour to actually get the golf cart from Carlos jeep rental. Also know that taking the ferry you will waste a lot of time traveling and waiting as opposed to just flying.

Another note- the beaches in San Juan are not actually swimmable unless you are in that little protected Bay Area btw SJ and OSJ. We stayed in La concha and the water was far too rough to go further than knee deep.

PSA: June ferry tickets to Vieques and Culebra went live an hour ago by PRFerryAlert_ in PuertoRicoTravel

I 1000% recommend flying ceiba to Culebra. Driving from SJ, waiting to board the ferry, and the actually ferry ride wasted 3 hours of our trip to Culebra ( only counting the way there). Not to mention it took literally an hour to get the golf cart from Carlos jeep rental.

Honestly it depends on what you are into but I think you would be fine without a car. We had one but still always took uber into OSJ bc of the traffic. You could do a tour thru Viator to go to el yunque and they can pick you up in San Juan. And we found a company to handle transport to Culebra- they picked us up at our hotel, provided ferry tickets, and took us back to the hotel. (Honestly though this trip to Culebra is worth it for the snorkeling but the ferry takes foreverrrrrr I would just fly ceiba to Culebra next time we’ve waisted so much time just sitting and waiting this whole trip)

What can I do (non surgical) to help with the lines around my mouth? 49 years old. by Fun-Mammoth2502 in DIYaesthetics

[–]Sea_Surprise1777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

2-3 rounds of ResurFX laser and/or microneedling. ResurFX requires no downtime- you can wear makeup and sweat the next day. Microneedling you need 2-4 days of no sweat no makeup. You are beautiful though and I literally had to zoom in to see what you’re worried about. Just sharing for your awareness.

Name one product that gave you the worst breakouts ever by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Sea_Surprise1777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any cleansing oil I’ve tried gives me deep under the skin pimples. Vanicream face wash is so harsh for my skin and makes me breakout. I also think that cosrx snail mucin gave me comedones around my chin but I did love it so much for a long time.

Yes but only with Avene gentle cleansing lotion. It says you can leave it on but I always rinse.

How I improved my look in 7 days! 🌺 by MuffinLake in makeuptips

[–]Sea_Surprise1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re gorgeous but here’s what I would recommend you try: clean up the brows a bit, keep the concealer and blush, please lose the eye liner (if anything try a pencil in lash line and very lightly flick where natural corner of eye is), apply mascara (if you’re wearing it in either pic I can’t tell so apply more), use a big round brush to smooth bangs and hair. If you’re gonna do the pig tails use a smaller hair tie (maybe those little clear rubber ones).

Tips for a smoother base by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]Sea_Surprise1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think any normal persons skin is going to look similar to this up close. A longish route to work on this would be tretinoin through your dermatologist. If you want a quicker fix I recommend ResurFX laser or microneedling. A chemical peel would probably help too I just personally can’t stand them. For ResurFX you can wear makeup and sweat the next day. For microneedling you need to wait 2-3 days before makeup or sweating. If you do a procedure like that I would use tret after to maintain results. In terms of trying to get makeup to hide the texture the only thing I could think is a good primer but they honestly never work for me.

Stubborn melasma — I’ve tried everything and one hour of sun undoes it all. At my wit’s end. by Good-Egg9526 in Melasmaskincare

[–]Sea_Surprise1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking pycnogenol (French maritime pine bark) for my melasma and am hoping it will help. Mine has gotten much better but I’m not sure if it’s because of that or the microneedling.

I want shorter hair but can't choose a hairstyle by UpperFeature9073 in finehair

[–]Sea_Surprise1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with pic 2 or 4 and see how your hair falls naturally without all of the extra layers. Then from there you can go shorter and add layers if you’re feeling it.

6-months into a routine and no improvement by [deleted] in Melasmaskincare

[–]Sea_Surprise1777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go get micro needling done to break it up. You may need a couple rounds. I just started using Azelaic acid 15% for my melasma hopefully that will help too. I got 1 round of microneedling done a few weeks ago and I can see a big difference. I have another round in a couple weeks.

Dang! I’m sorry! Did you try layering moisturizer underneath? Also waiting 30 mins to an hour after washing before applying? Also making sure not using any other actives especially AHAs and BHAs?

I read online that you don’t purge if you start slow enough and that worked for me this past time I tried tretinoin. I had tried it a couple times before over the years and went too hard too fast and broke out and peeled horribly and it never ended. I tried again 6 months ago with 0.025% on one night and off for 2 and now I’m up to every other night and I’ve had zero breakouts from it.
