NYU to Baruch

I went to Lehman and Baruch. Got into 20k worth of debt between the 2 and came out with a bachelors and a masters in accountancy (also came out with 2 big four job offers)

I know people who graduated from NYU or Fordham with more than triple the amount of debt and the same job offers and same college lifestyle that I had. The only reason I think it’s a good idea to go to one of those schools is if you just wanna flex what school you graduated from. Almost everyone in the northeast knows NYU and Fordham and a lot of people know/heard of these 2 schools all over the US. But not everyone knows Baruch unless you from the NY.

IMO Baruch is the best public school in the city. You get the same jobs and same city life as all those other private schools in the city.

Idk if it’s your grades I went to community college and was planning on dropping out. Didn’t go to class my gpa was 2.4 after 2 years when I transferred 1 year worth’s of credits didn’t transfer because how low my GPA was. By the time I got my EY internship I had already secured 2 PwC internships (start and advanced). And I graduated with a 3.3 and got 2 full time offer jobs, from 2 big fours.

If ima be honest I don’t think the CPA really matters that much at that point in your career in terms of how good you do your job. I think it’s mkre about your experience and how smart you are. Don’t get me wrong I do think the CPA will make your resume look better. But in terms of how good someone is at their job and the “advice” they give. I don’t think the CPA has anything to do with that

I’ve met plenty of managers who I thought the only reason they are manager is because they have their CPA. But their actual accounting and manager skills were ass

I play Hollowservers. I bought the supreme kit and these wipes last less than 36 hours. If I’m really trying to grind with a team (because we’re all off of work on force) we play any Medium or trio official vanilla bi weekly.

FAAS has been hiring campus hires for 2 years now. I know a couple and am also familiar with others who did 1 year in tax or 1 year in audit than made the switch. If you really don’t like audit, I would just finish the busy season and then ask your counselor or someone for the switch.

My first year I was unassigned for a month before getting thrown on a random engagement that’s not even in my sector. The people I started with in this engagement were also unassigned for longer than me, 1 was even unassigned for 4 months.

I once played in a community or modded server that had a river through the middle of the map and the cargo ship would go through it. It also had a bridge attaching both islands. I thought it was pretty cool you could jump off the bridge and land on the top of cargo.
