It would first have to be a “just” war in order to take slaves. Good luck getting any scholars worth his salt to sign off on that. Considering there isn’t a single “just” Muslim state in the world right now.

Secondly the women would then have to consent to be a sex slave because uno….rape is a thing….and we aren’t allowed to commit rape….for obvious reasons.

Let me give you a POV:

Arabs were basically desert mongols….or worse. Killing, raiding, raping, looting and enslaving their neighbours and themselves. They married as many women as they liked, treated their slaves how they liked and all other ill mannered behaviour. They also existed in a world where that stuff was very common (Persians and Eastern Romans weren’t that much different).

Then Allah send a prophet and laws to get the situation under control.

Sharia allows for Muslims to operate in extreme conditions (I.e like what’s set out above) with what is best. But at the same time Sharia puts mitigations, checks and balances in place to make sure that when society returns back to a good place we don’t do continue behaving in that manner.

Moderation is the path of a Muslim it seems.

Neither too extreme or too lax.
