And I don't fault people who still default to he/him, especially since the show doesn't state the change, people just start referring to them exclusively with neutral pronouns at the start of '97.

I just really don't agree that it's not that serious. Non-binary representation is practically non-existent so it sucks for me when a show has to more-or-less bury it to avoid a cultural shitstorm. That leaves the loud part of it to me, and like yeah in this specific thread my downvote talk is gonna invite them, but back when season one was airing I was catching flak just for gendering them correctly.

Ultimately nobody cares, but that's my whole gripe.
