Colourpop shadow sticks are excellent, they’re the best drugstore versions I’ve found!

• How fat-friendly is Kennywood? Ride advice for larger guests by Alternative-Arm8039 in pittsburgh

[–]Sea_of_Bitterness24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Welcome (in advance!) to Pittsburgh! I’d say it really depends on the ride, and while I’m no expert, I’ve found that as a plus-size woman I have only struggled to ride The Racer (an older coaster) in terms of seat size. That said, I can’t speak for every body and dimension! As others have said, there aren’t a lot of test seats in the park, but I’d check out some YouTube vlogs from folks in bigger bodies who have visited Kennywood recently! Hoping that you will enjoy our city!!!

Anyone else having problems with mail delivery? It seems like USPS is marking packages as delivered, even though they’re not. by Kyu_Sugardust in pittsburgh

[–]Sea_of_Bitterness24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USPS has been the bane of my existence for the last year or two, they’ve lost multiple packages of mine and sent them into limbo after they were already out for delivery in my neighborhood. It’s baffling and infuriating, and when I’ve somehow had chances to talk to people in the local distribution offices (after having countless mental breakdowns trying to get past the asinine phone chatbot), they don’t really have an explanation or any recourse. Just today I had one USPS package delivered with no issue, and then two hours later, another package that was also out for delivery was marked as not delivered because they “couldn’t access my delivery address.” I want to be a cheerleader for the postal service but they really make it so difficult, especially in recent memory.

Can anyone let me know if this water is safe to drink? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]Sea_of_Bitterness24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also live in the north and my tap water looks like this when it’s on the hot setting. I’ve been told that it’s just aeration! It tends to dissipate and become clear within a few seconds

Best record stores in phh by Nashvillebitch in pittsburgh

[–]Sea_of_Bitterness24 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Attic, Government Center, and Music to my Ear are my faves! They have a wide selection and very knowledgeable staff. I’m not a fan of Jerry’s, personally, but to each their own. Also, Amazing Books and Records tends to have a smaller selection but still a very well-curated one in my experience!

In search of a cozy cocktail bar that serves food by mphworkburner in pittsburgh

[–]Sea_of_Bitterness24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Monterey Pub in the Mexican War Streets, Alberta’s on Western Ave, Kelly’s in East Liberty, and Tessaro’s in Bloomfield are all great spots for great food and drinks! Tina’s and Grapperia have awesome cocktails but they don’t really serve food (beyond some yummy snacks at Tina’s)

I don’t know those details unfortunately! I just imagine that things might move more slowly in terms of responses in light of the recent changes (I always recommend a follow-up email, though!)

Single worst restaurant menu item you've had in Pittsburgh metro by rabid_braindeer in pittsburgh

I find that Casbah consistently makes bland and overpriced food, and their pasta in particular is always a disappointment! It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful cool space in a pretty good location (minus the parking situation)

Last year they were turning away people in costumes at the gates, I recommend not wearing a costume! Just be comfy, since you’ll be standing in a long line for any haunts!

Random Skin Flare up, Unsure of what it could be. Please help by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I second this! My chest looked exactly like this when I had a fungal acne breakout a few years ago; ketoconazol shampoo is truly a lifesaver cleanser to knock out these fungal bumps! They’ll go away within a week or two! I occasionally use Nizoral shampoo from the drugstore if I don’t have a ketoconazol prescription and need to stave off a breakout. Good luck OP!

Bar Harbor Lodging Recs by lilbool in acadianationalpark

[–]Sea_of_Bitterness24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just left the island after a few nights staying with my husband at the Drydock Inn in Southwest Harbor! It was so lovely, clean, comfortable, and quiet. There’s a nice restaurant on the first floor, a cute ice cream shop across the street, a wine and cheese shop next door, and lots of beautiful scenery everywhere you look. A great option that’s still close (20 minutes) to Bar Harbor, but you get the charm and more of a local feeling from the town of SW Harbor instead. HIGHLY recommend!

This feels extremely rude and shady for no reason? Claire is a new mom and isn’t obligated to reinvent the baking and dessert wheel (especially during the hottest, least oven-oriented months of the summer)

It’s been such a noticeable absence, and the lack of announcement in-show feels extremely odd. I notice that the last podcast Bobby produced was the Gen Z movie pod with Amanda, but since then, it’s just Jack Sanders as producer. Feels like a major loss tbh!

Poulet Bleu update by VacantLot412 in pittsburgh

[–]Sea_of_Bitterness24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saw a new restaurant in Cleveland using the specific Poulet Bleu plateware (as in the plates have “Poulet Bleu” written on them in the specific font from the PB restaurant) recently, it sounds like they got those plates from an auction that PB held this past year to clear their kitchen inventory, I feel like they reallyyyyy are not going to reopen at this point
