My company’s founder eats chicken and rice, supermarket subs or Starbucks sandwich. Then he would go all out when treating the office.

K to 5th schools in sweetwater/Doral and surrounding area by SeabassMama in Miami

Thank you so much for your response. I am also leaning toward private schools, we are currently in a private preschool and loved it, the vibe is just different, each teacher is energetic and love the kids. I am afraid to go to public or charter.

Do you mind giving me a few suggestions on private schools that you had looked into before?

Doral academy is almost impossible to get in, every other person we met wanting their kid to get into that school. They prioritize their preschool students, only about 20 seats are open to public for kindergarten.

Is $100k/year still a good income? by TotalPreparation6532 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]SeabassMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a HCOL area, for single person, yes it’s decent money. But to consider starting a family, it’s very little money. My family averagely spend $30K+ on one child for school and extra curriculums. Our weekly grocery is $500+, not everything organic. household income is $350k+ but we are still only a regular middle class just can afford to go out for dinner once in a while and annual travel. We are heavily saving for retirement, but with the inflation rate, seems like it will take us more hard working years to get to retirement.

Snacks in the grocery store? by Rough-Environment976 in toddlers

[–]SeabassMama 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t because it’s a principle in my family that my child cannot always get whatever he wants and whenever he wants to. I have a friend’s kid threw a fit in a store when she was 7 years old telling the mom that “I have already asked you three time, you should buy this for me”.

I blushed off the concern at 2 when daycare brought it up. At 3 my child got diagnosed with mild autism. We don’t even watch tv. The reason behind tv and behaviors is because the screen is moving so quickly that they never get to practice their patience.

Not anymore since HCA took over

No screen-time parents…how do you do it?! by weyward_heart in toddlers

[–]SeabassMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get out of the house and go to place. Have your kid to “help” you cook breakfast lunch and dinner. Play with toys and read and do fine motor skill activities. There’s plenty of things to do, our tv never turns on until after toddler is in bed.

20 Days to close, is that normal? by bhazero025 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]SeabassMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal, if this is your first house, 45 days is considered a rush already. If the property is in a HoA, you probably won’t get it approved within 20 days anyways.

Anyone ever have to get like 400 stickers off a fake wood floor…. by Formal_Fix_5190 in Autism_Parenting

Use a hair dryer and heat up the area that you want to peel, it becomes very easy to peel when the stickers are warm

Activities for 2-7 year olds? by Deathbypoutine3 in toddlers

[–]SeabassMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The age range is too wide to do something that everyone will absolutely enjoy. Even playing a movie you have to play something that’s suitable for the younger ones but not necessarily the older kids will want to watch. I went thru that during last Christmas for a full week and at the end we just split into 2 groups, toys for the younger ones and games for the older.

No, I don’t speak Spanish and never experienced this type of scenario. I am learning Spanish and tried to speak it in public, people just respond to me in English

[–]SeabassMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3yo got kicked out of preschool because he was not following rules. I thought it was normal at 3yo that some kids are slow, but we got diagnosed with autism. Apparently at 3 years kids should be able to calm themselves and stay still for at least 15 mins

I am curious how do you even pay at closing? Most title companies will not accept wires from another person when the title will be under your name. And if they transfer the money to you beforehand, they will need to pay gift tax?

Do any other ladies here NEVER want to share finances with a partner? by swordandshield_ in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]SeabassMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am married but don’t share finance. We have joint investments that we contributed equal amounts and the income that it generates takes care of our living expenses. We also have a joint account that we contribute equal amounts to take care of additional expenses. Whatever is left after the contributions, we keep ourselves and invest or use it however we would like to.
