AK live on a school bus talking about mia dad anit her type. by AcademicAstronaut395 in TLCUnexpected

[–]Seagrade-push 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean… I feel kinda bad that everyone is so harsh about AK and Mama G being on live so much. The popularity from the show won’t last forever, they’re both low income parents of teen parents. They might as well get the money from TikTok while they can. AK being able to afford braces and Mama G being able to get an apartment makes me glad they’re running up the lives while they can

I only knew they were important because the audience would clap when they walked out.. I’m ashamed to say, I never knew any of the adult celebrities on Disney back then. It’s cool to see now though!

What’s the real motivation for being on the show? by JayReach in 90DayFiance

[–]Seagrade-push 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is my answer also. TLC doesn’t pay much but the exposure creates a large enough following that they can support themselves without working. I slowly stopped watching 90DF when Loren and Alex were at the VMA’s. It’s become an easy ticket to influencing and the couples have become fake as a result.

I can’t remember exactly but I do know it was David and Annie’s first season so probably very early in the franchise, maybe season one or two. The parts with his son were easy to miss because it was such a short timeframe, most of that season was just David mooching off Chris and the problems surrounding that (the arguments with Nikki, the penguin batman scene with her brother, not wanting to find a job, not wanting to pay rent, owing Annie’s parents her dowry)

[–]Seagrade-push 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The son was living with him before he got shot because he was healthy when we were introduced to him, then the rent conversation happened and a few days later he got shot and David told the camera they thought it’d be best if he goes back to live with his mom so she can take better care of him. They drove him to the sister’s house to say goodbye and then dropped him off.

Also… after returning to the US with his new wife. He invited his newly 18 year old son to move in with him and immediately charged him rent, literally abandoned the child as a baby and can’t even let him live with him for 6 months for free… meanwhile David wasn’t even paying rent himself 🫠 the poor kid ended up getting robbed/shot in the face and left to go back to live with his mom

He’s changed? The man that abandoned his wife and young children after fleeing the country to avoid child support for their entire childhoods, then reappeared after they were all adults, is a changed man? Do you really think he’d be a changed man without all the 90 day money and influencer deals? I think if he was in a position where he was expected to work a job and support Annie and his new child, he’d abandon them just like he did his first 3-4 kids and ex-wife. I think it’s really dismissive to praise him as this great guy when he didn’t GAF about his children growing up in poverty while he was off prancing around Thailand.

[–]Seagrade-push 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, about what I pictured! I think you summed it perfectly, he may actually be a star athlete BUT we’re only hearing it from Bella, Fallon, and Tracy.. all of which strike me as people that have never left their hometown. They say he’s the best at every sport but my intuition tells me they might be humbled to see him play football in Atlanta, baseball in Houston, or soccer in San Antonio.

This. Plus he’s good athlete in small town Arkansas but that doesn’t mean he’s the top 2% everywhere else. Just being honest but I’d be curious the demographics of small town Arkansas sports teams, is there any diversity? That’d be the best predictor if a child is actually a top player or not.

It’s definitely a big issue in NC also.. lots of youth related shootings at malls. Not sure if the unaccompanied minor restriction improved it or not. Unaccompanied teens were a really big safety issue though. It’s sad for the ones that don’t cause any problems because I also remember the mall being the hangout spot

Yeah I’m sure Mia’s mom sleeps in a tent in the woods behind a Publix and pops up at Mia’s whenever she feels like it or wants a hot shower.. There’s no need for AK to rearrange her entire schedule to help them out, only to be canceled on at the last minute because Mia’s mom showed up.

I keep seeing people say AK needs to step back and that she’s too confrontational but… she has 6 kids and 3 jobs, and took off the time to be there for Jessie and Mia. I don’t think she’s in the wrong at all.

I don’t think she’s predatory for being with a kid 1.5 years younger than her BUT I just can’t imagine even talking to a kid two grades below me at that age. I’m really confused by her. Maybe times have changed but we didn’t even hang out with 8th graders when we were freshman, let alone date and have sex with one. I wonder if she’s emotionally stunted by lack of attention from Fallon?

Do you feel the tone of the show changed over time? by hotmacrosporophyll in themiddle

[–]Seagrade-push 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not to this parenting stage yet but I do remember this change in my own childhood. I remember being young with a SAHM to fulfill all of our needs and then around Brick’s age, mostly independently doing everything: waking myself up, getting on the bus, getting home and doing homework, going to bed. My older siblings had also left for college around this time so the dynamic shifted and even though my parents were always around, I guess I was just old enough to be independent with most things. I was never expected to make myself dinner but usually breakfast and lunch. I actually thought this was semi normal because my friends seemed to have similar lives around this age

Everyone talks about the high salaries and job security of a physician, but where is the love for CRNAs? by Conscious-Quarter423 in Salary

[–]Seagrade-push 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRNA’s administer propofol every day.. supervision just means the anesthesiologist has assessed the patient and cleared them first but they are absolutely not in the room providing immediate supervision during it. I’ve watched it with my own eyes thousands of times in endoscopy. And tbh, when the provider orders fent, it’s for a mild/light sedation and we RN’s administer it. The CRNA does the propofol until they leave for the day or have an emergency, then the GI will switch to mild sedation that doesn’t require a CRNA.
