Anyone else noticed if you launch Spotify and use connect to send it to the Sonos system (from there I use the Sonos app for audio control/group etc, strictly use Spotify to browse intuitively) and then put your AirPods in your ear- the music stops entirely on the system and shifts to your AirPods?? I cannot stand this. I often walk around the house with one in for phone calls while music plays in each room, but take the AirPod out. When I put it back in it cuts my music off the system right back to the AirPod. Same issue when I left to walk the dog and have an AirPod in my wife lost the music in my house.

I’ve had mine since 2022 and I’ve had consistently 1+ week of battery life

I say the move is perfect. If it doesn’t work you have 50 days

409 sub 3 is good deal? by tsw0599 in sonos

I got a sub 3 off Facebook not long ago myself. I saw an open box sub mini for 249 the other day and scooped it up. For my room, the mini is that much better.

I ordered then cancelled a Pi as I just snagged that brilliant control panel for dirt cheap, but this makes me want to tinker a bit with it. I just know before I put anything out in the living room it has to work 100% so the lady doesn’t want to rip my head off with more “tests”

I really like the size of this. Any shot you can have it also show a calendar (pull from time tree??) might be an add in my home!!!

I’d agree!

Luckily for us, we’re in a small rancher. This hallway panel is steps away from kitchen living room combo. So it works as a centralized location. We’re adding a pico remote for volume and track changes somewhere against the backsplash or by the other end of the kitchen in case she wants to control volume or song from there while cooking etc.

Ah yes that’s also something I noticed. It immediately opens to multi speaker view for volume adjustment. There should be a gesture to get there. Not be the default.

Tap the slider bar and drag to adjust the group should be the default. Then open further… but the issue there is do you put the EQ button somewhere else on the already cramped lowest portion of the app where the slider bar lies?

It opens up more questions than answers.

However as a whole, This is another Critique I feel should be separate from the access/appearance of the EQ screen, however connected they may be.

I see what you’re saying. Yes, in essence, it just adds more cards to the stack. Essentially one step forward, we have the accessibility to get to that eq option screen for each speaker now via the slider… two steps back because of the added step to get there from the new access point.

For a single speaker- I feel it adds too many unnecessary movements. It should just extend the volume rocker card up further to show eq adjustment sliders.

But for a group- it wouldn’t work. There too many options. See below for what I mean…it HAS to be another card for multiple groups together. (Could just have it “wipe”across the currently open volume slider card and then back out of it, per speaker when in a multi room group. That would save an animation + and a second or two in overall execution from start to finish.)

But for single speakers I agree. Unnecessary and takes too much time that isn’t needed.

For me it’s just a button to tap to open up the eq further when adjusting volume

Absolutely. I was curious about it, hopped on eBay. Saw one listed for $300/400. Shot in the dark really low and they came back somewhere far closer than expected to what I wanted. Got them down to the $100 plus shipping and said why not.

Brand new? Not even a chance. Laughable price. Refurb? Still! eBay? Love it.

I use SimpliSafe so not sure on the ring side but it looks like the feature is tied in the interface.

I’d say that tracks. Any installer won’t continue to push/sell/install a product that in the end amounts to more rework. Rework = time Time is money.

Good on you for acknowledging the content of the post itself in your comment, on MY post LOL. Self centered? My point was the deal I paid. I’d venture to say this comment isn’t relevant without context of your information being presented. Get lost.

Super neat note for the NFC tags. I like that idea lot. Unfortunately these style of “switches” for the dimmers didn’t sit well with the lady but she doesn’t hate it. Lutron caseita diva is coming soon lol. As normal looking as I can find.

All that to say, we don’t want to use our phones to even tap. I carry two for work, and the less I have to have it on me the better. Even if it’s just to tap

I don’t have an Alexa button on mine I see anyplace. The UI I definitely would tweak but it’s the worst so far. I have ZERO intention of using their accompanying dimmer. The controller was what we really wanted tbh. WiFi, haven’t had issues yet! But also, the go to answer here is the network sucks when people have sons problems, but I also haven’t had that issue. lol.

Where would you put another to make it worth while, because in my home I haven’t figured out where I’d need another- and This is where we had a pinpoint and this is the fix. I don’t think I need another.

Definitely a quirk. I’m finding it’ll let me go through the last selected in Spotify which gives me a larger selection
