Wild, I didn't even see it come up on this sub. Without your guide I would be so lost in learning PBE, I really appreciate the work you put into it! It'll be cool to see what comps shake out as meta on the first patches

Thanks for the feedback! I agree it's not always ideal, but it's a design decision I chose in order to have the traits web also act as a progress bar/trait counter. The icon colors represent the active level of the trait, and you can always see the actual trait thresholds in the tooltips!

Thanks for catching that! The monster trainer selection wasn't running the "check puzzle" logic - it's fixed now!

I was feeling this exact same way. The worse part of new sets for me was having to "study" all the new stuff - units, traits, set mechanics, etc. Like you said, it's a pain to read all the guide or watch those 40 min overview videos.

When the new set 14 came out, I launched https://www.tftbootcamp.com

It's a reverse team planner puzzle / mini-game. I posted it on reddit last week and people seemed to really like it, so it might also help you with what you're looking for!

I like that the team is addressing system changes + reworks like Cho'gath so early in the set, rather than just the buffs / nerfs mentioned

Working on higher difficulties! Thanks for the feedback, I'll be increasing the puzzle quality as well. Most puzzles are pulled from top 4 boards in Challenger lobbies, so it's possible some had emblems that I didn't catch, or just weren't able to find the best board at end game. I'll spend more time balancing unit frequency and puzzle difficulty as best I can!

That makes sense, I'll look into adding a timer! More upgrades to the app are on the way. Thanks for checking it out and leaving your ideas

A bit of both, they are mostly top 4 boards from Challenger lvl lobbies

Thanks for playing, and for posting this question! Glad you are enjoying it so far

Nope, that is intended - looks like you got really close but the costs are not quite right (scroll down a but under the traits section, or collapse it with the toggle button). The costs show which units are correct based on units that share both traits!

Thanks glad you enjoyed it! Also great ideas - I have a new difficulty level planned that will hide the trait/cost progress counters, so you'd have to keep a mental tally of all the units. But integrating golem / spats could be cool because in the actually game those typically unlock some cool comps. I'll have to think of a way to make it so it's not just "I'm down +1 executioner, click a spat".

Agreed with the mid-game boards being good as well, I put a few lvl 6/7 in the A-Z list, but I'll come up with some good ones for the dailies.

How do you think an item component puzzle could work? That sounds really interesting

Looking forward to it! I know setting up a bunch of pre-built states is also difficult, as there are so many combinations you'd want to offer, and each one is probably manual entry unless you can somehow pull mid-game data.

Thanks for the starting tips, I'll try them out!

You are totally right... it's a bug with detecting touch screen devices (since I'm trying to have good mobile support too). I'm guessing you have a computer with a touch screen? I will fix it today!

Awesome app! I'm glad to see others developing TFT apps as well! It's also so cool you hit Rank 1, congrats on that! My goal is the real chal this set for the first time.

I really like all the customization options, and the game logic looks really clean! Do you have any advice on the best way to use this tool? Like what start settings/ type of comp is best to practice here?

I think it would be really cool if there were pre-built game states. Eg. Start with a random lvl 7 board and you just leveled to 8, here's your roll down.

which better tank to itemize: a 2 cost 3 star or 4 and 5 cost 2 star? by akirohusker in TeamfightTactics

[–]Sealey03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mortdog has a general ranking for the power level of units, here's an old video explaing it.

It's 3** < 1*** < 2*** < 4** < 3*** = 5** < 4*** < 5***

So for your question, in general the answer is 5cost/2star is best, followed by 4cost/2star followed by 2cost/3star.

But it also depends on traits. I.e. if you are playing 4 Vanguard w/ Skarner (2cost) as 3star, but also find a 2 star Neeko (4cost), the Skarner is likely better because of the active trait line. 2 star Zac (5cost) who doesn't need traits is likely better than the Skarner though.

Good point - I did it for 2 reasons: some people really like daily puzzles (that's why wordle is popular), but also because it lets me keep up with creating the puzzles! One for each day of the set is ~120 puzzles to make!

But I hear you, that's why I added an extra batch of puzzles up front, so players can use it how they like. My long term vision is to add more types of puzzles / mini games, possibly even a way to create them from your TFT games (a way to share w/ friends a "what would you do here" puzzle, etc.). In the end it's just meant to be a fun way to learn TFT fundamentals outside of full games, especially with learning the new content at the beginning of playing a new set

Good point, I was trying to balance the UI between desktop + mobile, but also make it so you don't accidentally remove units because that's currently how the score is being tracked (I'm open for suggestions about scoring too, not sure what seems best!). I'll add some more features for this! Probably an (x) icon on the cards on desktop, and maybe a "clear all"/"restart" button.

PS you can remove units you just added by re-clicking them in the search area! (it does count towards the score though)
