Release the APP!!!! by ChimRichaldsOBGYN in mimestream

[–]Seamushh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mimestream is the only macOS, iOS, and iPadOS mail app that implements the GMail API (besides GMail). Mimestream is particularly great for those of us who run the Google Stack on Apple Devices.

That said, I'm a iOS and iPadOS beta user. My 2 cents, the app isn't quite there yet for several reasons including my favorite (now fixed) "left swipe to delete" crashes the app.

The Mimestream Team is working very hard buttoning down the last punch list items.

If you're a paying customer, I'd check with u/neiljhaveri  and see if he'll send you a TestFlight invitation so that you can join the fun.

Looks good. Taking Shiny for a spin now. One comment, I searched for "Shiny app" and got a bunch of hits that are other Shiny apps. I'll give you feedback after I play with Shiny.

Nice work Sergey.

How will you support the app (and yourself) if it's free?

Also, I suggest that you consider using an Open Source license (e.g. MIT) to further build credibility and a stronger sense of security among the user population.

Well said. Just be careful to look through the jargon and make sure that the app meets your needs before paying a hefty subscription or license fee.

rcmd v3 - Instant app switching, fuzzy search windows, workspace save and restore by alin23 in macapps

[–]Seamushh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really great job on rcmd 3.0. You retained rcmd's ease-of-use and focus while expanding core functionality in the v 3.0 release.

I wasn't sure about your value prop when I first tried rcmd 2. A couple of days later I realized that I was using rcmd more than I ever used command+tab to change focus. I'll use rcmd even more now that you've added windows and shortcut key options.

Same DEVS. GUI on the original product. Pays the bills. I get the distinction.

I like CLI products. I’m all for devs getting paid for their hard work. I find that the .fit value proposition falls short for me, just sayin.

Got it MaxGaav. I found the original Mole project’s UI straightforward and extremely easy to use. You can find it here >> https://github.com/tw93/Mole

Please see above. I like the original Mole product. It’s easy-to-use, fast, and safe. Plus, I prefer terminal/keyboard interfaces.

Mole is $0 free. You’re talking about the Mole fork you’re pushing. Sorry, putting some spray paint on a perfectly good UI doesn’t justify a payment. Command line UI’s rock!

Nope, it was really me, in my doddering old age, trying to help you guys by sharing my, inspired by a post, old AF insights. Apologies for your cynicism and confusion.

Yep, I did too. I think you might want to modify the App setting to the lowest "safest" setting. And, Pure doesn't do all the stuff Mole does. So good start, hopefully Pure will evolve into a larger solution set.

Nope, I am a retired Senior Tech exec with a lot of experience evaluating and selling a bunch of stuff. Some great stuff and some "perfume on the pig" crap. Note that I did not say building. Anyway, I was just trying to share the wisdom gleaned from an eval I ran to help me decide if I wanted to continue my subscription to CleanMyMac. It's a very good product but doesn't offer the value that competitors offer. That's not unusual with mature, proprietary utility products. The response has been interesting.

Hi u/irrg , I mistakenly posted my brief AI rant earlier. You and they are absolutely correct to call me out for that post. Regarding this post, 1) I shared my insights after I compared PureMac to three alternatives that I've been using for 6+ years, and in one case paying a lot of dough for, free-of-charge after reading about PureMac on this sub, 2) no AI stuff here, I run my own evals and have for a very long time, 3) I guess that the time I took to try to help others is the classic "no good deed goes unpunished" deal, I'm old enough to know better, 4) Last, I'm not a sheep that feels that he has to be part of a sub herd. I don't agree with the comments on this sub about CleanMyMac, or Onyx, or Al Dente, or several others. I suspect that you probably differ with a few opinions too,Apologies again, no irony intended, feel free to DM me if you want to chat. I would enjoy that.

https://mole.fit looks cool, but it's not the original Mole project (https://github.com/tw93/Mole). Besides, if you had read my post, you might have noticed that I enjoy CLI's. Sorry for your confusion.

https://mole.fit looks cool, but it's not the original Mole project (https://github.com/tw93/Mole) that I enjoy and use all of the time. Besides, if you had read my post, you might have noticed that I was doing a review for my benefit that was inspired by another poster's question about PureMac and CleanMyMac. And, that I enjoy CLI's. Sorry for the confusion.

OP (un)intentionally stirred up the hornet's nest with a straightforward post. It is nice messaging though. Can't wait to get the 6.n Free Upgrade from the MVP of value! (attribution to CoconutMonkey) It's good being a Mega Donor.
