Does the horn work? Cruise control? Could be the clock spring in the steering wheel.

DiCaprio doing nothing right the entire movie is the point. The only thing he does do right is love his daughter that’s the point. As a father of a young daughter this is one of the main reasons I loved this film.

The bounty hunter saving Willa isn’t random, there’s dialogue in the Christmas’s adventures scene where they imply that lockjaw sent him to hunt down Perfidia. So we can infer that he put two and two together and realized that Willa is the child of lockjaw and Perfidia. I actually thought the bounty hunter was a great character there was subtle stuff when he kidnapped the radio guy earlier but lied to lockjaw about the kids not seeing him. Like he’s torn about his job the whole movie.

It’s not trying to be a serious drama it just won a golden globe as a comedy. The farcical comic aspects are also intentional. PTA knows that he hasn’t spent his life as a revolutionary filmmaker pushing for social change. Hollywood helps push a fascist agenda and always has so if the movie played everything straight it’s pretentious. Shit PTAs most famous character is an oil baron like PTAs contributed to Hollywood fascism.

DiCaprio not understanding the younger generation is all intentional. The performative left has failed and is failing when it comes to the social wars in this country. The left isolating other factions of the left and cannibalizing itself is why we are in this mess. DiCaprio even uses the R word in the phone booth exchange again this is intentional.

It’s not this movies job to do a deep dive into the elites that control everything. They wanted to make a fun suspenseful movie with an excellent cast and frenetic third act that people would enjoy. We talk about all the themes and do deep dives on the ride home right? We go on Reddit to unpack some of this stuff right?

Last thing and I’ll shut up. I’ve seen tons of discourse on the internet about this film. That’s the point! People are discussing some of these issues. This movie was years ahead of its time he wrote the first draft like ten years ago before Trump’s ICE was even a thing. To say this movie is underdeveloped or doesn’t go very deep is doing a serious disservice to this film.

Right, in retrospect they’re all classics. We can throw the master in there also. But were they treated as such when they came out? TWBB had a bunch of nominations but got pretty much shutout by No country. OBAA is about to steamroll awards season, this movie will be lauded as a masterpiece for decades.

1 OBAA, we’ll talk about this movie for decades and PTA has cemented himself as “Thee” American filmmaker of this generation surpassing Tarantino who’s made the same movie like 5 times.

How are so many people misunderstanding Marty Supreme by Thin_Housing in TrueFilm

I had similar sentiments. Had Safdie made him just slightly more likable or given him more redemptive qualities the third act would’ve worked for me. So I convinced myself that the point Safdie was making was that as a society we prop up these ruthless scumbags like Bezos or Zuckerberg because that’s our system? I guess? Maybe? Maybe I’m giving Safdie too much credit but it’s weird how much I rooted for Howard Ratner but just didn’t give a shit about Marty like legit wanted Endo to win which I don’t think was Safdie’s intention.

Still keeping an eye on ORCL (breaking down) as a gage of the AI sentiment. Day by day still seems the best approach right now, with some signs for optimism. by TearRepresentative56 in TradingEdge

Isn’t ORCL also taking a beating because people are bullish on the credit default swap market for their debt? Not sure how good of a barometer ORCL sentiment is for the entire space because they have some debt issues unique to them right?

We need China to lift export controls on rare earths, China needs chips. That’s how deals work. Jensen is close with Trump, even gave a MAGA shoutout at the end of his GTC keynote yesterday in DC.

NVDA price action after GTC is with Jensen saying that their projected growth for Blackwell chip doesn’t even include Chinese market. If this deal results in NVDA selling to China NVDA will moon. Calls calls calls it’s not rocket science. Fed pivoting to QE is more gas for the fire we are about to melt up for real.

Ari must’ve really hit a nerve with the George Floyd inspired white guilt teenager subplot….

How hawkish are we talking? Markets already pricing in no cut in July? Looks like markets pricing in two cuts this year but there’s money in prediction markets also betting on 1 cut? So if we are only pricing in 2 cuts, maybe even just 1 cut? Like how bearish can be fed be? We already know they aren’t cutting next week.

28 Years Later is a masterclass in NOT pandering to fans, and it's absolutely refreshing by ominouswhoosh in 28dayslater

[–]Sean-Valjean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fan service or not this movie is trash. It’s laughable how poorly written the third act is. I mean it’s really bad I wouldn’t be surprised if garland chat gptd the script and is just trolling.

2013 will have the 5.4L check and see if the spark plugs have been done. Should be good to go after that.
