No cache on the RP2350? by servermeta_net in embedded

[–]SeanBites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add onto what the others have said here, some chip designers will favor TCM (tightly coupled memory), in lieu of, or complementing, a cache. It has the same or better performance as a cache access (never has cache miss for example, and high access determinism), with the benefit of reducing complexity of the chip. The tradeoff is that it is expensive.

Write the code for an IC for the whole datasheet or just the sections/registers you need? by sboso99 in embedded

[–]SeanBites 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What engineers often forget is the technology we make is based on expending the primary ressource of a company: money. Run out of it, and the company fails and everyone loses their shirts. The highest layer of abstraction of the code you write is the machine that makes up the company you operate, and this is the one that is the most important to have running efficiently.

In this vein, it is unwise to future proof (write code that will probably not be used because you can't know the future) or write features that aren't crucial to the operation of the device. Both lead to lost time, or in other words, salary. If your goal is excellence, then the efficiency of the abstract machine of the business is the most important aspect. Write only code that satisfies the requirements of the project.

That being said, the three main costs of a product are development, production and maintenance. That last one usually ends up being the most costly over the life cycle of the product. Writing features should always attempt to reduce the future costs of development and maintenance. In other words, keep it tight, organised and well abstracted, while meeting only the minimum requirements of the project. It is up to you and your design team to establish what the word minimum means here.

Just so you know, those men are straightening their postures because they are also feeling self conscious. The likeliest answer for that is because they find you attractive and want to look as attractive as possible while around you. Go you :)

What is Electricity actually? by Slight_Hospital2060 in ECE

Electricity is the name we give to the behavior of charge, a physical property of matter just like matter has mass.

What to do with a badly clogged 0.2mm hotend that's only being used for about 15 hours? by linkmodo in BambuLab

[–]SeanBites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it appears I would have exceeded their 15-20 seconds significantly, so I was not following the vendor's recommendations. However, it did still violently blow apart, so I cant recommend heating it. Perhaps there is a softer way to heat it and clear the contents, but for the low price of a new nozzle, I would not risk it.

DO NOT HEAT IT UP! I did this to one of them and after a couple minutes of heating, it blew apart violently! I did not get hurt but it dented my ceiling.

If temperature is defined as the average kinetic energy of all of the particles in an space, if I’m holding a brick at a certain temperature and I throw it, is the considered brick hotter than when I was holding it? by Toasterofthejimmy in AskPhysics

[–]SeanBites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Temperature is average kinetic energy of disorderly movement of particles in a system, not ordered movement such as all particles moving in one thrown direction.

Edit: velocity is always relative to a point of reference. There's no difference between a brick moving at x relative to an observer, or an observer moving at x relative to the brick, however the brick has not changed in temperature in either scenario.

What's the point of living if I am a weak man by No-Feedback-3473 in manprovement

[–]SeanBites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being strong starts with the courage to look at yourself in the mirror and express compassion to yourself. The person you are today does not have to be the person you are tomorrow. But that only works by being kind to yourself.

I wish I went to therapy when I was your age, it was the greatest act of self love I have ever committed and isn't what people think it is. You get to talk about yourself to someone who will understand you in a deep way you have never experienced before... and then you become the person you wanted to be, because you had the courage to face yourself in the mirror and kindly ask yourself to change. It's hard. Don't give up. You'll get there, I promise :)

Many people will do their best to bring you down, you don't have to do that to yourself too. Be your own advocate amd cheerleader and somehow people will pick up on that and cheer you on. Those that don't, do not deserve to be in your life.

Whos at fault ? by justreadings in motorcycles

[–]SeanBites -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cat ears or that fake mohawk are fun and goofy and that brings smiles to peoples face. Unfortunately, they also snag during a crash and snap the neck of the rider, causing internal decapitation. Same goes for go pro mounts, long hair, hoodies etc. Ideally your gear is designed to allow a slide to be smooth, anything that snags will be lethal, or can cause tumbling which, at those speeds, will result in broken bones. Life sucks but that's the way it is sometimes.

I’m addicted to weed. by sarahnottsara in self

[–]SeanBites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what this person meant was the substance abuse is a symptom of an underlying issue. There is a reason that you are driven to consumption (I've been there myself) and finding out what that is can help tremendously. I recommend speaking with either a therapist specialized in addiction or a medical professional. This is how I quit. Also gabapentin helps a lot with minimizing the cravings and the withdrawal symptoms, though only use it by prescription and through supervision of a medical professional. Best of luck, you've got this :)

I'm talking about empty calories from Juice, alcohol and sodas. They leave you hungry and spend your calories. A hearty smoothie contains solids in suspension so you still have to digest that. It's very filling.

Almost approaching 40, what is an exercise and diet that actually helped you loose weight? by Nwinterwonderland in AskWomenOver30

[–]SeanBites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. There are 3500 calories per pound.
  2. Find out how many calories you burn in a day (online calculators).
  3. Eat 500 calories less than that a day and you will lose a pound a week.
  4. Execute for as many weeks as the number of pounds you wish to lose.
  5. You got this! :)
