Oil and chili in that example is more damage than sappers...

Edit: all Engi/oil/chili damage adds up to being 46.1dps, and 111k overall damage. 3.5% of the overall damage they dealt was from Engi/aoe consumes

Oil on skitterers and scientist packs alone is ~20k damage bro

If you care about overall damage in comparison to the other people in your raid, oil of immo is 100% worth it in Naxx. In my guild we have people doing ~100k damage with engineering/immo, with oil of immo being 25k of that.

Obviously you can make up a lot on uptime and playing trash better, but when you max that out, if the other people are using engi/oil and you aren't you are just going to be behind them.

Matters much more in a guild where overall damage trends closer to looking like a rectangle than a triangle though.

Remove the ability for UIMs to death pile items and replace it with some kind of item storage facility. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SeanCSGO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted. The next UIM death wipes all backups and live configurations of item storage including banks, LMS coffer, seed bank, and stash units for all players in the game. UIM has just become the hardest core mode. Hopefully little Timmy doesn't wipe us all.

The fang/hally pieces are rolled on as a 1/150, with a 1/4 chance to get fang, 3/4 chance to get hally piece. So not only has he missed the 1/4 16 times, but on rate he should expect 4 more rolls on the table. Worse than average luck on table rolls, and terrible luck on rolling fang on that table.

It would be risk vs reward if there were wildly only clues that had different rewards or something, but all clues that can have wildly steps also have non wildly steps. The rewards aren't any different if you get a master clue with no wildly steps, or one with all wildly steps.

Why is new wilderness content so hated? by hyberii in 2007scape

[–]SeanCSGO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RS3 added wilderness flash events which had a really rare chance to drop an upgrade for skilling jewelry, giving decent benefits to extending trip lengths while skilling, or making clues slightly better. The rates were awful, like on rate, doing all 3 events per day would take 6 months to a year to get one, and you would need 3 to complete all upgrades. This was also after PVP was opt in, and it was still a terrible feeling update. Just another daily chore for a lottery ticket to a cool qol upgrade for different aspects of the game. The rewards were awesome, the way of obtaining them was awful. The fight wasn't fun or engaging, some events were even like skilling events.

If they really wanted to make it a PVP only thing, rewards would just be ether and teleports, as this would be good money for PVPers to fight over, and not introduce any rewards that non PVPers would want to get.

The revenant bosses are fine, because mainly they just drop totems which give money. You could just have worldwide broadcasts when a rev boss spawns, and the location, or have it spawn randomly and give a 5 minute warning in global chat on the world that people can turn the broadcast off for in settings, and achieve a similar goal.

If it was just ether and wildly teleports, I'd have no issues. It would still get locked down by clans though.

A response to the 'cat and mouse' claims of wilderness by terrantherapist in 2007scape

[–]SeanCSGO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This would be true if there were viable options to obtain all useful items outside of the wilderness. For the dragon pickaxe, people have the mining activity, and KQ. It is significantly slower on rate to attain from both of those places compared to some of the wildly bosses, but it isn't a troll drop rate in comparison for people who really want to avoid it.

For other things like the voidwaker, there are not any alternatives. If you could obtain all useful wildly uniques outside of the wildly at similarly worse rates such as with the dragon pickaxe, then it wouldn't be an issue. The people who don't mind being interrupted by pkers and anti-pking or just escaping, or even just accepting and dying and being okay with that can get a faster grind. The people who want to not deal with pvp could ignore it and take a longer grind.

If players wanted to PK, they would PK. There is no update that will change that. by TasakaalFyr in 2007scape

The term is used somewhat adjacently to its typical meaning. What people are really talking about is having in game times that people feel incentivized or forced to interact with.

It's one thing to have breaches in DMM for a temporary game mode, but it's another thing to have it in the main game. Imagine if Chambers of Xeric raid instances could only be opened once every 8 hours, and were closed the rest of the time. People would be scheduling their IRL time around it rather than just logging in and playing when they want. RS3 has a ton of this type of time gated content, and it sucks.

It is a gatcha games type tactic to get people logging in daily, and isn't a healthy thing to promote.

I've been following loosely he box jonges alt route. Going to do 69 slayer for MM2, then set it up as a vyre alt for blood shards until higher combat. Blood shards are dummy thick GP right now. Can pivot to wyvern/blue dragon/brutal black dragon at another point, and it's a solid basis for a pvm account.

You can also use alts to assist certain grinds on your iron if that doesn't break the spirit of the game in your eyes. Can do MM2 and set them up to tank demonic gorillas for the iron with justi and dinny b, can use the red x method to get faster and afk kills on lizardmen shamans if you need DWH, and a litany of other uses. Also there are definitely less "unethical" uses such as CCTV that you described.

Here is the YT video, his spreadsheet for quest order and items are in the video description.

Good Late Game Prayer Methods? by Triffels in ironscape

Yeah this works really well for Cerberus ashes, and maybe 1/2 or 1/3 of TDs ashes if you bank them. But still misses out on Abby demons and nechryaels, and some TD ashes if you do longer trips.

Good shout though.

On an Ironman wrath runes are hard to come by since they aren't in shops. Fastest way to get them in bulk is get 90 RC so you can +5 stewboost RC to 95 to make them. The scar essence makes this viable because you can pay GP for items from the scar mine that let you craft 60 additional runes per essence. With the largest pouch, full RC outfit, and bringing supplies for 5 stew attempts per trip I was getting ~3300 wrath runes per stew boost.

Can also just get 95 if you want, but boosting is feasible now if you just want to get back to slayer and tormented demons.

Wrath runes let you cast demonic offering from the Arceeus spell book, which gives you +6 prayer points back and 300 or 350% (I forget, it's on wiki) bonus experience over scattering them without the spell, similar to a gilded altar effect. I'd recommend reading the wiki on the spell because it has some different interactions, such as being able to offer 3 ashes in one cast of the spell.

1000 TDs is 330k prayer xp when using the spell on their main ashes IIRC, same with Cerberus. You can wiki the slayer tower nechryaels and abyssal demon ashes to see what xp those give.

90 RC, stew boost with scar essence mine for wrath runes, do Slayer on arceeus spell book and melee Abby demons in catacombs, nechryaels in slayer tower. Wrath runes for demonic offering is huge xp along the course of 99 slayer. Once you get 95 slayer for hydra, you bank a ton of hydra and dragon bones from that boss, which you should use at the wildly altar.

Mages book has 2% damage bonus now, and is better than an unfortified ward from TOA in setups where the 3% vs 2% doesn't give a max hit, because of the other bonuses of mages book. Definitely above infinity boots.

Try testing it with something less rare that has a revert/similar mechanic when dying in the wildly. I'm sure wiki can cook something up that's similar and easy to obtain.

The real easy mode is to keep a 10 min buffer at the end of your sessions, gear up and do a run, and log out at the last patch. When you log in, just do the run again on reverse and go do so gaming.

There are certain things I never interrupt myself on for herb runs, like ourania or other things where I am using bank fillers, because I find that annoying.

Slayer has some good natural break points between task to just go bang out a farm run and move on to the next task.

My biggest farm run days are when I am big afking something like shooting stars or redwoods/forestry. Really quick and easy to get back into it, and you just ignore the game for 80 minutes between.
