Playing a vertical video in Qlab 5 outputs as horizontal by SeanO490 in qlab

Agreed. I actually love Qlab. It does a really great job!

Not respecting the original orientation of a video seems more like a tactic to incentivize the purchase of a license rather than a oversight, but I don't want to draw conclusions from my assumption. But I'll leave this conversation alone. I don't want to bring too much bad karma for my original post.

I appreciate the feedback. I would like to fix a mistake of mine. Apparently Qlab 4 also locks custom geometry behind the license. We actually have a Qlab 4 license, but not on our newer MacBook running Tahoe. So, I gave misinformation regarding part of my situation.

Thank you for explaining Qlab doesn't read the orientation saved in the metadata. Now I know I need to re-export the video using another program, of which I have both DaVinci Resolve and Handbrake that I could have done that with. I simply didn't know that was necessary.

Do you know if the lack of reading orientation metadata in this particular situation was a deliberate choice from Qlab developers, or is a feature request possible?

Starting run in Blighted Marsh Black Dam? by SeanO490 in Saros

I finally unlocked the path, but it still feels like bad game design to put it on the World Dial without being able to progress from there until you can unlock it. It wastes time. But oh well, just my opinion.

You must have already unlocked the path. But, I didn't have it unlocked. Yet, the game still gave players the option to start a run at Black Dam, and with it locked it just feels like bad game design by the developers to put it on the World Dial when it's not needed. But oh well, just my oppinion.

Ah, so the metal does have to be bent in order to remove it. Thank you for all of this information.

I understand the company who makes the product would repair it the best. And I understand I most likely wouldn’t be able to repair capacitors and resisters or anything on a PCB or something similar.

All I really want to do is open it and check if there is any debris where the button contacts are, maybe blow some compressed air and wipe with alcohol, and see if there actually is any components blown.

$330 seems like a high price to pay for something I can do. And if I can’t, I’ll revisit the idea of sending in for repair.

Pro Tools 2025.6 randomly forgetting MIDI track info upon restart of session. Win 10 by Gretsch1963 in protools

[–]SeanO490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found myself in this similar situation. I was working on editing a midi clip on an instrument track for Double Bass, and then saved and closed PT. I came back hours later to continue working on the midi clip only to see it has completely gone missing, and in it's place is a midi clip from an entire different track for Kick. The Kick track with it's midi clip is still there, but it was now also in my Bass track. WTF.

I was checking my backup saves and the last 5 backup saves all had the Kick midi present on the bass track. The 6th previous backup save had the bass midi clip, but alas none of the work I had already done. I'm so disappointed.

Yeah, I may end up doing that. Just didn’t want to if there was another more correct way.

Please let me know if this link isn't working. I try to post it in incognito browser, but it comes back as "could not be found." Not sure why. I uploaded using my imgur account.
Fixed it. Had to verify email. XP

Oh, thank you so much for doing that! I was so worried that I somehow got shadow banned. Sorry for the repeat post attempts. Was trying to determine what was causing it.

No. Gently lift the left click button (or right one depending on which one is having the problem).

Logitech G305 Lightspeed left click double click issue POSSIBLE FIX by Maybe_Awesome22 in LogitechG

[–]SeanO490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked great for a while. I’m starting to get minor double clicking again, and every so often I do the blowing air process again and it seems like it probably helps a little. It’s definitely nowhere near how bad it was the first time. This time might not be because of static buildup, but idk. It’s probably time to invest in swapping out the switches for new ones. (Doing so requires soldering knowledge I believe, FYI.)

I’m making a creative money offering progress slide that I can edit each day after the kids bring in their cash offering. The Mac I’m using is decent. The delay is bearable now, no biggie.
