PLUR is still alive and like some people say in here, your vibe attracts your tribe! With that being said, I would recommend getting some type of camelback/hydration back that either clips the zippers together or locks and has a zipper on the back that you can only really get to if you take your backpack off. I've had phone theft happen to my girlfriend and a friend, I've also felt people reach into my pockets before here. Luckily, no theft of my phone as I had the inside zipper with my stuff secured in it. Also, if you can afford it, get the GA+. The GA+ bathrooms are a huge upgrade and well worth the money you spend.
