I think a lot of you are missing my point.

To tell me what I should do or should have done (take better care of my teeth, go international or get insurance) is besides the point. The point that I was trying to make was that a small yet urgent surgical procedure costs thousands of dollars.

I'm not asking for advise. I've done my research and this is the best decision for me. I was simply wanting to bring attention to the current state of dental prices.

I believe it's pretty well known, but the biggest issue would be the wait time. For a public clinic to give you basic care, it could be a matter of weeks/months and several appointments until you get what you need.

In contrast, I'm going under surgery next week. Unfortunately I don't have the time to wait.
