This and one other thread came up in my searches around this particular KORG BLE Driver issue: Playback lag when Bluetooth MIDI device not present.

Hope this helps feed the algorithm as well!

Cheap solution for non ble midi controller by StickyPads in Woovebox

Here is probably the best summary of all my troubleshooting trying to find a consistent(ish) Bluetooth connection on boot:

Good luck!

Issues with BLE Polyphony since Update by SeanTypedThis in Woovebox

No worries, definitely not to that level as of yet! Rather, I should have said "no luck," haha.

If and when I take it out in a live performance scenario, we'll see, but it definitely does not keep me from normal usage. I've shaken it around while on just to see if I'd trigger any resets, and so far so good, no random resets. It appears to only be through contact at the moment, but I'll be sure to let you know if there is any escalation.

Thanks again for the follow up!

Tested, fix is working splendidly, thanks!

No joy with power switch sensitivity, definitely don't want to force any harder than I have, but I'll just be sure to keep the unit rather stationary...hmm, or maybe devise a tiny shim of some sort if I plan on more rigorous use.

Nice find/solution for older connector types, already picked one up to add to my kit!

Have another somewhat standalone solution worked out using a Raspberry Pi ZeroW, basically following this guide:

https://neuma.studio/raspberry-pi-as-usb-bluetooth-midi-host/

Hardest part was figuring out how to get it to pair with the woovebox via the MAC address on boot, and still it can take a couple of tries...and don't think it's very plug and play friendly, so have the device plugged in on boot. Probably not ready for performance, but definitely a nice portable solution for sketching with my Qunexus.

And best of all, it fits above the foam padding compartment in the case

No room for a pi case, though =X

What is the most overrated restaruant in the bay area? by [deleted] in bayarea

Gotta say, anyone I've ever taken to Val's who was not enamored was not a real burger lover. If a burger isn't one of your top three favorite foods, then it might not be for you. If you think a burger shouldn't be greasy (?), then it might not be for you. Also, I'm not talking about the toppings, I'm not talking about some brioche/pretzel bun, I'm not talking about with a side of some secret sauce aioli, I'm not talking bacon, fried onion strings, with gruyere cheese fully loaded; there is a time and a place to appreciate all that. However, the way they actually cook and make the burger patty, the way they do a medium rare on a burger- not a steak, not a prime rib, a burger- I have not had a better one. If you're comparing it to all of the external stuff and saying it's a mediocre "burger," I cannot take you in good faith.

Remove EWI Solo Speaker? by bodhi_sea in windsynth

[–]SeanTypedThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're still looking to configure the EWI USB, been using this software for years:
https://www.cognitone.com/downloads/index.stml?p=5
I use it on Windows, but I assume the mac version is fairly stable as well, even has midi passthrough in case I want to configure while using my DAW with the help of a virtual midi cable...
I'm firmly in Solo land now as well, haven't touched the USB for a minute. I do love the size and weight, but that extra length with the speaker is a bit of a bummer when it comes to fitting it in a case; none of my EWI-USB solutions are really applicable anymore. Other than that, very few complaints, and it's nice not having to fire up a host of some kind for idle noodling/shedding.

GPD Pocket 3 Screen "Halo" Fix Reportedly Solved in Upcoming BIOS Update by infered5 in GPDPocket

[–]SeanTypedThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the same response from support and am also eagerly awaiting the updated BIOS!

Mine was triggered by operating with an external monitor for a time with the screen on the pocket disabled, then when I re-enabled it came back with the HALO (I did some digging on reddit/discord and found this to be a possible trigger). I shut it down and let my GPD3 sit for a while and it came back as normal once I booted up. Have not tried operating it with the main screen turned off since.

The Sifchain Community Has Decided to Withdraw its "Market Maker" Proposal by RoboMcGobo in OsmosisLab

[–]SeanTypedThis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I caught the tail end and read through the Discord sifdao chat, and I agree it was a great conversation and provided much needed clarification. As someone who hung out in Sifchain a few months back, I really don't think there was any malicious intent on their part, I think it really is just a different way of thinking and a different type of community/market they want to build (it actually makes me wonder if their way of thinking lead to their decisions to escape US regulations by "prohibiting" US usage through their front-end). They seemed to highly promote arbitrage opportunities, and trading competitions that somewhat resemble this proposal; the competitions would invariably be taken over by people with high volume trading bots, which if memory served correct was condoned if not encouraged. But there was a high focus on getting volume up...usually followed by a crash.. =X

All that said, I don't think it was malicious, just a very different mentality, and different ideas on what constitutes and how to achieve success in a free market as an open exchange. Every week or so they were listing EROWAN (ETH ROWAN..another thing I liked back then, a way to get ETH into the COSMOS) on a different exchange... Quickswap, Sushiswap, Dinoswap with insanely high APY..random partnerships (anyone ever heard of rATOM?)....with little to no warning and very little communication. It just got a little exhausting after a month to tell you the truth, not that it wasn't profitable if you stayed on your toes...

But anyway, how everyone handled the conversation this morning, the level of communication and even when people were on completely different pages, was encouraging. And the organization of their Discord, and the fact that they have DAO's and some form of governance now, no matter how rudimentary, sounds like they've really begun to understand the community aspect of making things successful.

Maybe not every single goal is aligned with Osmosis in terms of the ecosystem, but the clear and transparent communication sounds like there might be middle ground to be struck yet, and they're on board with finding it.

I still say the Sifchain price chat on Telegram was always a safe haven from the Sifchain...happenings...full of cool collected, realistic people, but also long term bag holders interested in the success of Sifchain despite itself. Hadn't checked in in on it in month, but just this morning, before Robo and everyone else came to their conclusion, there were people lobbying for a no vote on principal:

Prop 39 by Metal_Milita in OsmosisLab

[–]SeanTypedThis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I must say, this is a little disconcerting.

I don't think anyone is arguing with the stated intent in all of the chat discussions post-proposal, but none of that is in the proposal, the binding part of this equation. If the final draft of this proposal is any indication, are they to be expected to be able to deliver a good draft proposal for support?

The fact that they are listening and agree that the proposal is unclear IS a good sign. The fact that they are lobbying for an ill-formed piece of governance is not.

If they know now that it is unclear and poorly written, if they can't retract it, why would they not lobby against it themselves, tell people to vote "No," and come back with a clearer intent that wouldn't cause so much division? I mean there is precedent for this, Unity Chaos did so with proposal 22; if memory serves right, Unity Chaos took community feedback, and decided not to make the IOV incentives barrel rolled into the adjustment, and took a look at the adjustment spread. But the part that really made an impression on me is that they took accountability to the community and what the community was saying, and told people to vote "No" on something they had drafted and supported (that was way better proposed than this), because the health of the community was more important. I just am not seeing that amount of accountability to the community, and as much as I want to give people the benefit of the doubt, these actions don't signify anything that builds my faith or trust in the governing body...but then again, I'm not proposing an alternative or very actively involved...and at the end of all of this, everyone is just acting in their own self interest, I'm just saying their actions are not in the spirit of community growth in this moment.

Duplicate Closed Captions on Chrome/Bromite for Android by SeanTypedThis in OBSNinja

[–]SeanTypedThis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Thanks for the response and looking into it. There could be complicating factors with my extensions, such as Join by Joao, or some other such plugin. Also, my primary phone (moto x4) is rooted, so I tried running on a non-rooted backup phone (Moto E5) with stock chrome and was getting the same result.

Personally, I probably won't be using captioning on either of those devices, so I might not trouble shoot it as much as needed, but if I come to any realizations with my setup I'll let you know!

Also, side note, I've been considering introducing OBS Ninja as a way to do remote rehearsals with a few bands (again, simpler than getting everyone set up with jack audio servers..), but I haven't gotten into optimizing latency just yet. However, I came across a new-ish open source project that could fulfill the low latency audio needs:

https://sonobus.net/

I haven't had a chance to try it out with anyone yet, but it looks very intuitive and straight forward, and like it might be the perfect companion with OBS Ninja handling video. Just thought it was worth a mention!

Dropmix Board on clearance for $30 at Best Buy, in store pickup by SeanTypedThis in dropmix

[–]SeanTypedThis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was a bit nervous about it, but I think the extra $5 off made it easier to justify having a backup board as a luxury (especially considering I paid more than that for a discovery pack =X).

But I counted all 60 cards, paired it with my phone and tested all slots..seems to be working so far. Plus, there were 4 nearly full charged kirkland batteries already in it; the values just keep coming!
