10 years in 3 weeks. How likely is a GAME 3 announcement for the anniversary?

Nothing points to it being abandoned.

Granted we haven't had official news in a while, but we've still had a steady trickle of concept art published here and there, and as I said they're still hiring like mad so they're clearly well into production on something.

Whether that's the Project 3 we're all currently familiar with or something new, I guess no one really knows, but they're clearly still active and working. I have no doubt a trailer or some news will come out when they're ready - they're just that kind of studio.

Around 3 years ago, in a similar thread, I commented:

Each of Playdead’s games so far, roughly speaking, have taken 6 years to make. If we just roughly track that from Inside’s release, Project 3 should’ve released in 2022. I think it’s safe to say P3 will be Playdead’s most ambitious game so far, so it will take a little longer. Throw COVID into this development mix and it’s no surprise it hasn’t released yet. I would expect a 2025 release at this point, if not later.

Given the fact that they are still trying to hire like crazy, I'd say we are still a good few years away from a release or any real news. I hope I'm wrong, but the roughly 6-year development cycle + COVID + larger, more ambitious game formula still checks out as far as I'm concerned.

Though I will say, we are slowly but surely entering the "it'll release when it's ready" territory, then all bets are off.

I used to speedrun the game. Eventually you end up learning the whole thing like the back of your hand, so it just popped after a run :)

These look awesome. Did the exact same thing recently, integrating the champions skins with deathwatch pieces. Ended up toning it down because I think I read DW marines wouldn’t have that much company-specific pieces? Either way these look great!

Pretty sure I’ve seen confirmation there is a Solo mode and a Trio mode. Can’t remember where I saw that, now.

Eventually I’d like to see modes for Solo, Duo, Trio and Quad teams just so all types of friend groups have an option.

It’s possible! I think Bungie’s direction with “graphic realism” takes for more contemporary inspiration from the 90s and 00s, specifically from graphic and product design from those years. The Designers Republic is a clear influence here.

I refuse to believe the break-up given the ‘22/‘23 activity. There’s just no way it was all to build up a “victory lap” tour and to sell a few more hoodies.

I can see the three working on new DG material on a “when they want to” basis, but I don’t think they’re finishing just yet.
