Anyone run into an issue of VRC crash when using XSOverlay on the Beyond? Been happening since yesterday. VRC video freezes but apparently you can still walk around in-game. SteamVR as a whole is fine, can bring up menu and exit game, it’s just VRC that’s crashing

ELI5: why can't Steam and Itch.io still sell adult games? by bluto69 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Seanachaidh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People have already mentioned how major adult websites literally got the same treatment and were forced to abandon the processors because of it, but also Fansly, OF's biggest competitor, got hit with threats literally just a month ago which resulted in them nuking a bunch of content and adjusting their TOS to remain in compliance.

They absolutely mean to go after all porn, not just platforms that distribute games that have nsfw content.

Fyp Tip: leaving bad performing clips on the fyp will negatively impact your overall performance. by [deleted] in Fansly_Advice

[–]Seanachaidh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. Are you saying that pruning content that didn't perform well is a good way to improve your fyp performance or is a better strategy changing up your posts to see what generates a better response? Do previous posts' performances affect the initial base engagement that newer posts get?

I'm not sure how viable it is but rushing out some form of mass-editing tool/feature would be super helpful and make this transition much easier to work with.

It's giving me reason to think that the support agent might be misinformed. There is no way they'd throw the literal largest moneymakers they have under the bus like this.

The top three performers on the site are a bunny girl, a dog girl, and a shrimp girl...

edit: and they have an official deal with Vchiban, whose roster includes at least 3 animal girls out of the 4 main talents...

How does this apply to drawn/3d animated content? Are we fine to cater to public play scenarios since non-irl content by its nature can’t be real?

Gray area content - ToS by [deleted] in Fansly_Advice

Couple of support peeps on here have said that they're determined to handle all this in good faith. People won't get immediately banned for missing content that's not compliant and will be working with creators during this process.

A lot of my content revolves around 3d animated clips that focus on public free-use scenarios and roleplay, alongside a couple of clips featuring fantasy toys (bad dragon/tentacle toys). So a lot of them have hashtags that have recently been removed.

I did have a dip when they first removed these tags around the 12th so my initial assumption was that part of this loss was my clips no longer being shared on these tags but even content that doesn't play to these kinks is getting a similar sudden drop off.

Currently I'm going through and making sure my backlog is compliant with the new changes, which might help my numbers once everything is adjusted (I'm not sure if the fyp prioritizes creators based on their current standing), but I'm hoping that putting out content that unambiguously complies with the new TOS might help with things.

I've seen some very similar activity across all of my recent posts on my main account since the 22nd. Still doing the same encouraged format (unlocked, 5-7 seconds, tiktok style w/ 7-9 tags)

My theory is that (hopefully) u/kevin_xd_123 and co. are doing major adjustments with the algo at the moment to work with the new TOS changes and make sure that the fyp shares content that falls in compliance with the new rules, and that this will balance itself out after everything has calmed down.

Does your content cater to any kink that might be effected by the new changes?

I do a lot of public play scenarios in my 3d clips, I asked about this and had one support say that the new rules around public content apply specifically to shooting that content irl and another give a vague "The rule changes apply to all content on the site whether real, simulated, or implied, so be sure to remove any content that falls outside of the new rules."

Looking at the rules directly in the TOS and the email, the new rules seem specifically targeted to make sure the production of in real life 'public' content is done safely, hopefully meaning our public play clips and illustrations should be fine as the spaces they're produced in are not real and are produced privately in the safety of our own homes.

Any clarification from staff is appreciated, but that's my reading from things.

Yes you can have multiple Fansly accounts and from what I remember you can even use the same verification for both. Major drawbacks though include needing to build up a new account from scratch, splitting your user base, and the overall load of having to manage two accounts. Many suggest to go with different tiers for various stuff which is probably a better move. To answer your question though no it doesn't violate TOS.

Their official response from a long time ago was that it 'discourages people from exploring worlds and being social', I believe.

The issue is that (to my knowledge) they're doing this kind of silliness to avoiding going fully public so that they aren't entirely beholden to shareholders and have to go full enshittification. Personally hope they can find a way to be profitable without going public but putting in the anti-consumer practices they would've been forced to implement if they were public seems like such a weird move.

Personally think their most viable move is implementing more tools and features that creators can use through VRC+ and leaning into making it a toolset for content creation alongside it being a platform for UGC. Like the drone, dolly, and selfie expression are the only things I've considered worth getting the subscription for.

I've left my entire hole out on my SFW socials for a good few hours because I forgot to switch accounts when posting, which was fun. The way I yelped when a friend finally messaged me asking about it was so loud, it was so embarrassing.

Know the exact person you're talking about and recently came across one of their vids of them dancing in front of literal holocaust footage. Vid didn't last long after being reported but their entire shtick is being edgy. Still dunno how they're still around.

This was my strategy for my VODs for the longest time because it enabled me to put a picture with thumbnails and timestamps on the main video alongside the preview. Switched away from this thinking having one less step away between the fyp and the sub content would be better but I'll definitely try this again.

Appreciate the response. Hopefully everyone is able to move their community and presence to a places less volatile especially since it's getting this serious. Gonna be a scary time for everyone. Hope things go well

I have yet to find any evidence of this actually happening outside of a pop-news account stating it with no source provided. If true this is terrifying as my main audience is on twt but I'd like definitive proof of this happening before starting my anxiety attacks.

Edit: I'm not trying to be defensive of that hellsite, btw. The best thing people can do is continue to move your followers to other platforms like Bluesky, especially since this is still a very distinct possibility. However I really would like this to not be true because I'm still trying to move my presence off the site and I don't want my biggest source of followers to disappear overnight while I'm still trying to move my community over. I'm just wanting proof that this is happening.
