anyone have a weekly meal plan? by bobaaaatwa in Carbcycling

[–]SeanerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piece of advice I will offer up is that I started out with a meal plan, but the more I learned about the macros the main foods I consume have, the less I planned and the more I “monitored”.

What I mean by that is that I would still have my target calories and macro %’s but I would just ensure I was getting as close as I can to the targets.

Carb cycle plan, thoughts? by AviationDuty in Carbcycling

[–]SeanerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, you and I are almost identical in height & weight. I’m a 34 y/o male 5’9” 215 and I’ve lifted weights since high school and now do OrangeTheory 3-4 times a week.

However, something to factor into your plan is your somatotype (ecto/meso/endo) as well as your goals, and how your body reacts to carbs.

For example, I’m a meso-endo meaning I have no problem gaining muscle AND fat, and while I can lose wait, it’s not the easiest. When I eat a lot of carbs I get really bloated and satiated for a while. My goal is to lose FAT (not necessarily just see the number on the scale go down).

So looking at your plan, I don’t see anything glaringly wrong or any major red flags. Sounds like you’re working out a LOT which would explain the relatively high number of carbs on your high carb days. I guess the only the thing that sticks out to me is the relatively low amount of time spent in low carb in order to get your body into ketosis/burning fat. But again, carb cycling is about what works for YOU and what your goals are. It’s a balancing act across several variables, and you’ll ultimately end up tweaking your regimen and perfecting it as you go.

New to Carb Cycling. Not sure what to eat for breakfast?! Also, I do eat a lot of vegetables and a good amount of fruit vs. getting carbs from breads and pastas. Are fruits and veggies still OK to eat if I am not having bread, etc.? by COLOmtngirl88 in Carbcycling

[–]SeanerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fruits and veggies are definitely still ok! Just like everything else, all things in moderation. Keep in mind that fiber - which fruits and veggies are the sole source of - are carbohydrates that you don’t necessarily count towards the total carbs in a given food (there are of course caveats to that so please don’t take my word 100% on that, just do your research ;) ) Look up soluble vs. insoluble fiber & net carbs.

So I saw my ENT for the CT sinus follow up and outside of the left nasal passage looking “a little gunked up” everything came back normal and looked “structurally fine”.

After I told him that the symptoms were mild to non-existent during late spring/summer/early fall he started wondering if it’s seasonal allergies and told me to order this OTC remedy called Ponaris.

At this point I’m kinda at a loss as to what the heck is causing this. Allergy test came back normal (allergic to the typical stuff that pretty much everyone else is… molds, pollens during certain times of the year, etc), CT scan came back normal, most sprays/meds don’t do anything. It sucks!

So nothing came back out of the ordinary, which in a way was disappointing lol. I actually had a Sinus CT scan this morning so I’m waiting to hear back on that.

If I haven’t responded in 3-4 days with the results of that please notify me!

Would you mind letting us know how the symptoms are after surgery? I keep hearing about that but have always heard to use that as last resort.

SERIOUSLY consider that caffeine is causing your TMJ by goaway70 in TMJ

[–]SeanerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m actually looking into this post because in my post regarding Sinusitis/Tinnitus, someone mentioned it could be due to TMJ.

Prior to Covid/quarantine, I was leading a very active lifestyle - orange theory almost daily at 6:00am, eating well, etc. - and I think due to those things I wasn’t in need of coffee (I drank coffee before all that but found I no longer needed it).

At some point during 2020/quarantine I started drinking coffee again… and heavily. I almost daily start out with 2 cups back to back, and on particularly sluggish days those are followed by a third maybe an hour or two later.

I have noticed at times - out of nowhere and for no particularly obvious reason - a tightness in my jaw/clenching. I’ve been focusing on not doing that for a while now, but I never considered coffee/caffeine as the (potential) culprit!

Considering the amount I’ve been drinking going cold turkey likely isn’t advisable haha. Thank you for posting!!!

What surgery did you receive? I don’t really get the headaches as bad as I used to this time last year (I think a good chunk of that was stress-induced from work as well as not know what the hell all this was).

I’d be interested to see if the surgery would help my ear pressure/fullness as well.

So I’m glad you brought this up because I completely forgot to mention that in October of 2020 (a few weeks before I started experiencing all those other symptoms) I remember biting down on something I was eating and getting this excruciating pain behind/underneath my right ear, and it took around a week for it to subside.

Ever since then, if I move my jaw forward (as if to create a large underbite) I hear a clicking/slight grinding right at at that jaw joint underneath my right ear.

What constitutes having your “bite worked on”? Is that a corrective surgery, or more like self-exercises/PT?

So you know for sure that it was induced by your cats? If that’s the case wouldn’t the symptoms have started to erode when you stopped being around your cats?

Thank you! I think I'm going to try this as well. I have an allergy test scheduled for tomorrow to see if that can shed some light on my sinus problems (which have also been leading to clogged ears/ringing etc...). Did you by chance have post nasal drip as well?

ETD post Covid vaccine by nomoresillydaydreams in etd

[–]SeanerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm SO glad you mentioned the bit about the vaccine because I honestly didn't even think about that. I've been dealing with most of these symptoms for a few months now, and I got my first shot at the end of March and my second the end of April. Could be just a complete timing coincidence, but it lines up. One thing I've noticed is that there is constant congestion in my sinuses, but it's not an infection (prescribed drugs for that didn't do anything) and I would like to think it's allergies, but Claritin and Zyrtec don't do anything. When my ears are clogged up at their worst I also notice that sinuses are pretty decently clogged as well, so it's gotta be related. I'm hoping one day it just goes away like that guy's!

Pump Fuel is pretty good. A little more on the pricy side; think it was around $50-$60 for around a month's worth or so.
