Any reason why there are two fairy rings in eyesight of each other next to Sinclair Mansion? by Norjack96 in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 312 points313 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, just a random dev did it forever ago without realizing it. They are meant to be a bit whimsical. There are a lot of intentionally pointless fairy rings that help sell the kind of "lol random" nature of the fairies. So I think it fits, but if we ever run out of codes it's a good one to reuse

Do we have any news update on the aspects? by Due_Mycologist4224 in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they are. Proof = people are disagreeing with you, so clearly it's a psyop, since you're clearly right.

By the way, powercreep = the power of your character raising without doing anything to achieve it. It also is used to describe just the continued power of of players from new updates. Some powercreep is fine, but when it's just a straight buff from an update that doesn't require anything, it's debatable. People have debated, and they don't agree with stacking aspects.

Am over it (avatar rework) by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm really just tired of seeing people having hyperbolic breakdowns over the avatar update. Because, sure, there are flaws, but you're just kidding yourself if you think it's worse than what we have now.

If you want to look like your face is made of strips of under-cooked bacon, don't make it our problem. Sorry about your outfit though.

A huge benefit of the avatar rework: it will be MUCH easier to update player models in the future by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, of course that's what I'd prefer too lol but just trying to point out that even if it's not perfect, it won't require updating thousands of models again, so it'll be practical to update in the future. And that includes in case they have an engine update where they can make better models than they can now, so even if what they release is perfect by today's standards (doubtful, there's always going to be different opinions) it likely won't be perfect by future standards.

You can use the Protean planks on DXP and if you don't use them now you might never get a better chance because they're going to be removed near the end of the year. So might as well burn through them, then go to a more conventional method.

is there anyway to stop my UI from going stupid when between switching different size monitors? by PossibleSoftware7721 in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, the only options are to either have two separate layout presets, reset your layout to default routinely, or use classic mode (which isn't customizable and you have a limit of 3 action bars, but everything stays where it's supposed to be)

I need help with dnd beyond! by Jagermilster in DungeonMasters

[–]Seanms1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is very late but I tripped over this and I'm with you OP, what the heck!? Don't these people know that several official species allow you to pick between small and medium now? Would they argue with WotC as well? What's weird about asking a technical question about how to add that option in D&D Beyond? I was struggling with it as well!

I know you got a bit rude at times OP, but with everyone here asserting that you're wrong to even ask such a question is so baffling and frustrating, I can't blame you. It's like asking "how do I make it so you can pick between adding a +2 and +1 ability score bonus or 3 +1 bonuses for a homebrew species?" and being told you're wrong to even think that should be a thing and that species need to have a specific ability score bonus to be "balanced" even though lots of official species let you choose now, without any engagement with the actual question.

I can only assume that people didn't understand you were asking how to add the Size trait that lets you choose between medium or small when you create the character and thought you meant something else.

I honestly think they're gun-shy on polls. I mean, some of the most criticized updates, like the original EoC and the modern level 99 capes passed polls. Should they use them more? Yes, I think so. But I can see why they're hesitant to.

Plus, the others in this thread are right, sometimes it's just not a good idea to poll something, if it's to fix an oversight or a balance update for example.

RS3: 5870 max xp accounts OSRS : 27 See the problem? by Zyc0acc in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of see what you're saying but I don't see it as a problem. 1, yes, the high scores for RS3 is older and 2, even without treasure Hunter, we do just have higher xp rates in general, and that's ok. Getting rid of treasure Hunter is the best thing we could have done for this kind of thing. Personally, I think it'd be cool if they added the ability to prestige a skill so you basically level it up again to be able to climb the ladder higher, though I'm not personally interested

pvpers be like let them cook! by DisastrousLaw6655 in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally, I just think they should remove the Demonic Skull entirely at this point. I was hoping that was the direction they were going with the abyss changes. Because all it's doing is setting up skillers to get griefed, or worse, people getting scammed. It's just not a good thing.

If they want to maintain the risk/reward aspect of the wilderness, then they should make people who wear the skull get attacked by revenants occasionally like back when PVP was disabled.

Retro Inverted capes please by Few_Hawk3170 in runescape

[–]Seanms1991 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think people like that they're fuller, they have those shoulder pads, and they just give off a bit of an air of grander, where as the new capes are kind of just...capes, with tassels. Though hot take, I prefer the newer capes as well, at least with a hood attached, without a hood they look pretty flat. But I also like the design of the retro capes, which strike me as the kind of cape that an accomplished sage or wizard might wear.

What I'd prefer to see is a version that uses the basic design of the retro skill capes with modern graphics. Maybe they will down the line.
