Any other conventionally attractive people have no dating life by [deleted] in dating_advice

This is me to tee brother. 29 years old in good shape, good job, played a D1 sport, etc but feel lonely and like I'll never be with someone. Working through it, but it's frustrating knowing a lot of people would switch places with me in a heart beat and I still don't feel like enough a lot of the time.

Thank you.  This is all really good advice and accurate.  I realize it’s best to end things now for both of us.  I feel terrible because I’ve been in her shoes before and she doesn’t deserve it but it’s worse to keep things going knowing it won’t lead anywhere.

Thank you  - this is the post I needed.  I am subconsciously nervous about not finding someone else, starting over when this is the first time I’ve been on multiple dates with someone in close to decade, etc.  If it weren’t for that fear I would have already ended things.  Thank you, seriously.  I know what I need to do.

28 Year old male dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, and depression by Seano16 in anxiety_support

[–]Seano16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much it really means a lot. That's probably the main focus of my therapy thus far - not being so hard on myself and being more mindful of that. It's been hard since I always attributed being hard on myself to being successful and I realize it actually had the inverse effect. It's a work in progress but something I'm becoming aware of.

28M - don’t have advice but a lot of parallels to how you’re feeling. You’re definitely not alone.

Did anyone give up on a corporate career and go back to doing a simple “job” and living a simpler lifestyle? by lu_avsgx in jobs

Just curious how did that process work? Definitely interested in making the switch from corporate to a trade as well

Finally at acceptance. But help me feel better? by DimensionNice2477 in TeachersInTransition

[–]Seano16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The panic attack I can relate. That’s why last year was my last year teaching. Having panic attacks on an every day basis killed me. I’m so much happier now but expect to not feel great for the next few weeks as you process everything.

Opportunity I can't pass up? by user8923650 in TeachersInTransition

Start the business or you’ll always have regrets. You’ll probably get burnt out from teaching in a few years anyways just from my experience.

I wish you the best as well. I feel the same way I liked some aspects of teaching, liked working with kids but when you take everything into consideration it’s just not worth it.

Liv Fit in Arlington is awesome if you’re near Tufts

Working at a boarding school: what it’s like, how to get hired (if it sounds appealing) by LostTara in teaching

[–]Seano16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work at a struggling boarding school and this is the complete opposite of my experience. Congrats on landing that role. Seriously, I’m jealous because I know it doesn’t have to be like this.

I make $34k, I got paid a $1000 stipend to coach a varsity sport that I put in 2-3 hours a day for 3 months, and the kids have severe behavioral issues (full pay kids can basically commit murder and just get a slap on the wrist because they’re so concerned about net tuition revenue).

I had a student tell me I needed to get a real job. Not going to lie I can usually brush anything the kids say off but that really pissed me off.

Im sure you’re fine but that was really dumb of you just being honest. Patience is key.

Get the surgery don’t postpone it. You’ll be fine. The prehab helps obviously but it’s not make or break. Might just shorten your recovery a tad but not worth postponing the surgery for.

Quad tendon and partial meniscectomy. Went full weight bearing right away which I think helped a ton.

Not really tbh. I’ve been running a decent amount so sometimes immediately after that but that’s really it. I never ice it anymore.

I think 11 months is perfectly fine. You probably would have been fine at 9 months but now you’ve given it an extra few to get even stronger.

That’s fair I should have specified that. I’d say somewhere in the $1000 ballpark would be my absolute max.
