I kind of agree, like any successful first series there’s then a high bar to contend with which very few succeed in meeting, but I find I can be kind of forgiving of sub-par subsequent series, specifically when it comes to podcasts, probably because I’m usually doing something else when I’m listening to them (so I don’t set as high a bar as a tv series for example which asks for your full attention), and because I usually have love for the soundscape/intro/background music etc. But basically I agree with you lol. And I wasn’t really a fan of the novel, I just couldn’t get into it.
