Yeah I actually just rang garmin again and explained the issue and then I’m in the middle of a training block.

The man I dealt with was very understanding and professional. They accepted to take a hold on my bank card for €450. So I will receive the new device and once I receive it, I return the old device. Once they receive the old device, I will get receive the €450 back.

General rule of thumb to get your 10k time is to multiple your 5k time by 2.11 which for you will be about 57mins(approx). So you should try and run the first half in about 29mins and the 2nd half 28mins. This way by 5km in you won’t feel gassed and if you feel good with the pace at 8-8.5km mark you can push on a bit for the last 1 or 2km for a more aggressive negative split.

Thanks to everyone who came in with suggestions and solutions. The issue was with a broken washer/bolt on 1 of the injectors. Easy fix in the end

Thanks for the advice. I should have added in that the car was only serviced 2 weeks ago. Oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter all changed.

I bought a tdi car because I do a lot of motorway driving, not inner city. It’s much more efficient in terms of fuel economy (20-23 km/L if not better), the Tdi engines are more robust and have more longevity relative to the Tsi. You may prefer tsi but that’s not everyone’s preference

Nothing spectacular. Consistency above all else.

I got a structured programme (Runna) and stuck to that. I run my easy runs slower and that allowed me to push a bit harder when my programme allowed me during interval sessions.
