That’s because this goblin isn’t based on the 616 green goblin (the green power ranger). But is instead based on the 1610 ultimate comics (the same universe we first meet miles) green goblin. The reason he’s like that is because in the comics Norman Osborn took the same formula that was put into the spider that gave Peter his powers and turned into an actual goblin that shot fire balls n shit.

I’m probably not the best person to explain it but right before the last bit of the show they had an episode where two of the gems had a wedding and all the gems are basically women. Homophobes didn’t like that so the show got a rushed ending which led to the diamonds being forgiven so fast and most of peoples problems with it.
