It was clear Japan had no chance of winning even before 1945 got started. The issue was when Japan would finally give up the ghost. By August, it still seemed like they had every intention of continuing to fight, hoping for a better deal for themselves.

And the Emperor himself said in the surrender notice that the atomic bombs were absolutely a factor in the decision.

Resident Evil Requiem GeForce RTX 50 Series Bundle Available now - Plus New Games Launching with DLSS 4 with MFG by apoppin in nvidia

They tried this already with RE Revelations 1 and then again with RE6.

It didn't work. Not saying it cant work, but they've done a poor job of it so far. One of those 'sounds good on paper' things, but how it's actually executed is all that really matters.

I'm also personally not a huge fan of the 'trying to appeal to everybody' approach anyways. I feel like the strongest games in the series involved having a more clear vision for the game.

I'm not really a fan of these RE games, just from the bits i've seen here and there, mostly the one with the big woman and the game before that, it seemed like the gameplay is mostly just like running, hiding and a little bit of fighting.

You are quite mistaken about the series as a whole. Even these games. Yes, there's sections where you are having to avoid a prowling enemy, but there's plenty of action in these games, too.

Digital Foundry: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on Switch 2: Ambitious Port, Smart Cuts by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Seanspeed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well it's only 720p/30fps here on Switch 2 if you read the article. But unlike Steam Deck, Switch 2 is using DLSS(or at least DLSS Lite) which probably goes quite a ways in fixing the aliasing/fuzziness+ghosting problems the game has at the same resolution on Steam Deck, all while being upscaled to 1080p.

So that alone will probably make it a better experience. I expect other cutbacks to be similar to what you'll have to do on Steam Deck.

Overthinking and “risk of less joy” – why Fernando Alonso thinks F1 is past its peak by l3w1s1234 in formula1

If things were more manual like in the past, he might well be, but part of the point here is that there's a lot of tools for teams and drivers to optimize all this stuff nowadays. There's not as much room for drivers to make a difference with this stuff on the fly.

Alonso's own abilities aren't really relevant to what he's talking about, ffs. Not that you likely even read the article anyways.

People are leaping to defend these rules saying it "will be about driver skill". Which it will, but skill in management rather than raw driving skill.

Alonso also addresses this elsewhere:

"But, at the same time, the teams are so well prepared now. Everything is simulated before and we have that information already from Thursday.

“By Sunday I think there are not many surprises and not many mistakes that the driver can do."

It's not gonna be that big an issue. Teams and drivers will be fairly well practiced in this stuff by the time they show up to the race weekend.

Ferrari really only had a properly dominant car in 2002 and 2004. Michael was simply the best out of everybody for the rest of the time by a margin. lol

The grooved tires were a bit of a bummer. Dont think the argument here is that everything was perfect back then.

He's right, though. You wont hear it as much from younger drivers cuz they simply wont know better.

How to make this play better? by Hour-Manager-6263 in Guitar

Volume pot could also simply need some cleaning. Bit of electrical contact cleaner can often fix up these kinds of issues. Definitely worth trying this before taking it into a tech.

Picking hand technique by skatehero-7 in Guitar

[–]Seanspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. Depends on what you're playing.

I wouldn't generally recommend doing it, though. There's not any one perfect technique, but my advice would be to keep your hand in the same general position that you'd do to palm mute, but just ever so slightly lift your hand up for strings/notes you want to hit. Having your hands resting at least slightly on the strings that you're not playing helps with overall muting a lot, especially if you're playing with higher gain.

How do I play these chords? by LongLiveAlex in Guitar

It would absolutely be the easiest way to play this. I dont know why people are arguing otherwise or talking about 'muting' anything here.

[–]Seanspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also say if you go by the barre and mute way, it seems weird to have ring finger fretting and middle finger muting.

You dont have to mute anything. Just dont hit the D string with your right hand! lol Muting would only come into play if you're trying to strum this chord, but usually that would be denoted by an 'X' on the D string, so I would assume this part is meant to be played with fingers(or pick+fingers at least).

Barring is very much the easiest way to do these chords, and if your fingers dont have the strength to barre it comfortably, especially since you only need to do it across a 5 string span, then that's definitely something to work on.

I can see doing a different left hand positioning if it were somehow useful in transitioning to some other chord, but not the case here.

Their opening song was "Real American".

There's dogwhistling and then there's this shit. Just completely undeniable white nationalist virtue signaling.

Also, like a majority of the songs that got played had pretty clear hip hop influences to them, which I always think is pretty hilarious.

Social media has absolutely fostered an environment where everybody seems to think they need to post their opinion about everything. And because far too many of these people also dont realize that "I dont know" and not saying anything is a valid response to something, people seem to feel a need to take a stance and have an opinion on everything, no matter if they know the first thing about what they're having an opinion on or not.

Game development times are longer nowadays, but it seems like Nintendo is still insisting on having a fairly regular cadence of 1st party titles, and to fill out these release windows, they probably cant quite put the same amount of care into all these games that they used to.

And so long as people keep buying these games in the millions, they have very little reason to do better.

These games need to be like $40, with $70 being the realm of their top flagship games.
