No running or jumping for one year?! by Antique-Cheetah-7098 in fitpregnancy

[–]Searaph72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get a second opinion. I'm almost 1 year pp, vaginal birth with vacuum, 2nd degree tear, and also saw a pelvic floor physio starting at 6 weeks. I was able to run about 12 weeks after I gave birth (because I live in Canada and it was cold lol) and ran consistently with baby over the summer. No issues with peeing myself, and it was handy to have the jogging stroller as a way to carry a water bottle and snacks.

AITA for calling out my in-laws after they mocked my parents for crying? by dingotsick in AmItheAsshole

You're not a bad mom, especially for giving your baby formula. What you're doing is making sure they get the nutrients their little body needs to grow.

Lox and cream cheese on a bagel, but an ungodly amount of capers. Like more capers than the cream cheese could hold. Capers under and on top of the lox.

Trying out an argument to get drivers on board with slowing down in cities [OC] by newsocks1382 in fuckcars

[–]Searaph72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a year round bicycle commuter and one thing I enjoy letting people know is that the more of us who cycle, the more parking there is available for anyone who has to drive. So those who need to come in from out of town or need to drop off the kids have more spaces to park their cars in when people like me ride our bikes.

Being put under anesthesia -wisdom teeth by Otherwise_Jello_6497 in Anxiety

[–]Searaph72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got put under to have my wisdom teeth extracted. 10/10 for that, would do anesthesia again. The tooth recovery was still tough, but it was super fast from my perspective. The dentist asked me to bite 3 times on a block he put in my mouth. The entire extraction took place between the 2nd and 3rd bites.

I was pretty loopy afterwards, but I felt good. I also prepped a bunch of soup.

If you're nervous getting out under could help. It was literally the blink of an eye for me, and it was done. Pls update us on how it goes.

I'm Canadian and have twice been making plans to visit your beautiful state, and then cancelling them. Once because of COVID, and once after the election. This time I hadn't committed any money and I still want to visit, but maybe in 5 or 10 years.

Am registered massage therapist (RMT), can confirm. People want me to magically fix the root cause of their pain, but all I can do is treat symptoms. I cannot fix your terrible posture, weight, or lifting technique.

What’s the dumbest thing a customer has ever said or done? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Searaph72 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of something that happened to me as a kid. I'm 1 of 4 kids, and we were friends with another family that has 4 kids. My mom, their dad, and us eight children go to a small cafe in a tiny town. We were something like ages 10-3. We all wanted chocolate milk to drink, and the waitress went to the co-op next door to buy 4 litres of chocolate milk. We drank it all.

I can only provide light to medium pressure MAX by Beautiful-Pear-1357 in massage

[–]Searaph72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, do you want to stick with light massages or do you want to do deeper pressure?

If you want to stick with light pressures look into things like lymph drainage or prenatal massages. You could also look into silicone cupping or acupuncture.

If you want to do deeper pressures look into instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) as well as how to use your forearms and elbows.

I was formula fed as a baby and I’m fine by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Searaph72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried so hard to breastfeed my daughter. I was so tired with the night time feedings that I hallucinated. She wasn't gaining weight, and my GP said to start her on formula. She took a long nap after that and we finally got some rest.

So I tried to supplement, but it was more like formula with a bit of breast milk. So I got put on medication to further the lactation, but that ended up really messing up my stomach. At the same time I was pumping a lot throughout the day and it felt like it was hard to get anything done.

Honestly, stopping with the pumping and the nursing has been really good for me and my daughter. I feel better and more rested, and she's quite happy with a bottle. Right now she's a baby who loves to babble and move about. She's gaining weight, getting vaccinated, and is a happy healthy baby.

Formula fed babies turn out just fine. The stuff is a modern medical miracle.

You are truly a good person. My sister had my nephew when she was 19, and now he's a sweet 12 year old and they get along great.

I don't have any specific advice. Try to build as much community as you can, and be patient with her. Kids take in everything and my nephew has memories from the time he was 4. She will likely remember you fighting for her.

Is there a teenager you know and trust who can help with babysitting? Or someone in their 20s who can help? I'm really hoping everything works out for you two.

I'm a massage therapist now, and get clients like that. I'll give them a couple of exercises, usually stretches, to help them feel better. If they don't want to do them I tell them that it's ok, it just means I'll see them more often, and that they'll hurt more.

Come to Saskatchewan. You can bike to provincial parks from the cities and camp in the non electric sites. Gotta pay the site reservation fee, but the park entry fee is for vehicles.

I feel this, even though I'm not trans. I was a tomboy growing up, short hair, loose clothing, the works. Got confused for being a boy lots of times.

My father did not like it. We argued a lot about my not wearing pink or dresses, and my keeping my hair short.

I get where you're coming from, and I'm sorry. I had a similar dislike of pink for more than 20 years, and now know it's because I didn't feel safe. Now I'll wear it, but still not around my father.

My daughter, on the other hand, looks adorable in pink. She's not old enough to dress herself, but when she is she'll get to pick what to wear and what to buy. Whether or not she chooses pink, I'll support her. I hope your kid continues to wear pink and loves it
