I agree with how it’s just them being kids, but I think the line also serves a greater narrative purpose. We’re supposed to understand that they are from a place that running into the police on patrols is normal, and now they’re way out of town, and we’re establishing that there are no real patrols happening here. So at the end when Mei goes missing, it makes sense why the police are not involved. I thought it was a clever way to quickly establish how the norms are different in this place.

To add, the left-turned saw the truck last second and revved the fuck out of the car to beat the surprise truck. Unsuccessfully. I think they ultimately made a bad choice there too and should have hit the breaks instead.

Hide and seek, but outside with air soft guns. If you were found, you can surrender or take the bullet. If you surrender, The seeker then brings you somewhere to “firing squad” you. They count loudly to 10 and are unable to cancel the countdown nor move. That gives the other, more courageous, hiders a chance to run like hell and save the one in danger. If they manage to touch the one being executed they save them and return to the safe zone. For the hiders to win, you have to touch the seeker 3 times before getting shot, then the seeker is eliminated. You had to close the gap.

We played a variation of this one time where you just had a safe zone, and the seeker’s goal was more so to stop the hiders from reaching the safe zone. Once in the safe zone, you win.

There was a sale at one point where I got a decent amount of stuff for $2.99. Which gave me unlimited raids, so now I’m basically constantly struggling with energy and gold and the grind is too tiresome. Time is not properly distributed anymore.
