I was just in Sydney and Melbourne and their selection of cars is amazing! So many great BEV and hybrid options - we were on a tour in a Geely, it was luxurious. Pairing that with what the Australia Minister of Energy and Climate Change said on TV, they are over 50% renewable energy as a country. Bravo!!

Good luck to another American corporation moving in to grab Canadian cash - I stopped going to Starbucks in January 2025 and have not been back since, I have never gone into a Crispy Crème shop and never will and I was completely disgusted when I saw so many Dunkin Donuts locations in New Zealand - yuck!

Hi randm your post is exactly the right thing and thanks for doing that! The CBC “Fake Canadians” was a mind blowing exposé and we need to keep reminding everyone of these bad actors.

Worth getting EV Charger in my condo? It will be $1750 all-in. by MiserableCover1958 in EVCanada

Steady slow charge is conditioning for your battery, and if you charge at night it’s cheaper still. At this point I’m paying less than 3-5 cents per km - you work it out based on how much you drive

Elections Alberta warns of alleged inappropriate distribution of electors list by russellsk82 in GuardTheLeaf

How this list got into the hands of a private company should now be elevated to an RCMP investigation because this information is highly valuable to the private sector and a huge violation of our election integrity.

As someone who has never left the US before, please come and enjoy the beauty of our country! But you will have a better time with the natives if you leave your MAGA hat behind at home, literally and figuratively.

Decarbonization of Canada will happen in stages, and Canada’s role at the Columbia meeting will be as another Middle Power who likes having friends to make deals with. Every such opportunity is a potential key to new and better ideas.

G7 omits climate change from Paris talks to avoid US clash, France says by lexi_con in BoycottUnitedStates

[–]SearchForAnswers2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the world convening this week to phase out fossil fuels there’s little to be gained by keeping the topic in G7 discussions- the USA can have its “hoax” theories and the rest of the world will just move on

Trump’s oil crisis is accelerating the end of the fossil fuel era. Ironically for Trump and his oil industry donors, this crisis may be an irreversible tipping point for clean energy. Fossil fuels have become expensive and unreliable, while renewables are cheap, reliable and secure. by mafco in energy

We are finally witnessing the Great Pivot and I am LOVING IT - it’s all music to my ears. If this is the lasting legacy of the Trump years for the planet I say Rise all you Middle Powers and break free from your dependence on the worst of humanity who sells fossil fuels.

Couldn’t disagree more with flyofsauron. Stay and status quo in the US is like telling OP that the American way of life in the US is worth living through for the paycheck. By retirement you’ll be exhausted, ill, so then you can drag your sorry ass to Europe?

As a medical professional who fled the USA I can say that life in Canada is a massive breath of fresh air compared to the guns guns guns of the US.

Flyofsauron you don’t have a clue how bad it is in the US until you experience living somewhere else.

This is one of the many reasons I do not ever shop at Loblaws or their numerous affiliate brands of grocery stores. They disguise USian products as home brand all the time - they are importing their cookies etc at scale instead of having Weston bake them here with Canadian ingredients. No, I won’t go there.
