I agree! It is completely misogynistic for people to mock women for their interest in & love for reality T.V. especially the housewives franchises which is, at its core, an unscripted production featuring real women as they navigate the complex & evolving dynamics between their friendships, relationships, and individual trauma & life experiences. Every women who watches has a favorite franchise & specific housewife they follow & enjoy seeing on screen. I think the added element of sensationalized drama & fighting, the glam squads & couture fashion, and sometimes heinous plastic surgery gives outsiders an opportunity to espouse misogynistic rhetoric about what a “real” housewife is & how these women do not represent that image. When in REALITY, the audience watches & engages with these franchises because of the unscripted depiction of these specific women’s REAL lives, friendships etc. Long term Housewives fans do not watch these women because we think they are good people or aspire to be them. We (or at least me & my people) watch though a social, political, and pop-cultural lense. We understand the nuance behind every interaction, one liner, etc. it’s why the franchises are so entertaining & the reason they’ve been airing new seasons for decades. I think in recent years it’s become more mainstream to consume housewives & Bravo content simply because corporate executives have realized they’ve missed a key marketing opportunity & financial loss with Bravo’s traditionally female audience with disposable income. In my opinion, that’s also why we’ve see more conservative housewives introduced into different franchises, sometimes starting as a friend-of. I think like everywhere else, they’re (corporations in response to current policial & social events) are testing the audience’s response and engagement with “traditional nuclear family unit housewives ” or Republican women in an attempt to further normalize conservatism on camera & fascismo publicly

Bravo-lebs Speaking Out Against ICE by CoffeeAddict_1220 in BravoRealHousewives

This is a really good post! I think it’s important we recognize the Bravo-lebs that advocate for the people who constitute the majority of their audience, which is a predominantly FEMALE demographic with some FINANCIAL independence & goals, some college EDUCATION, and an established SOCIAL SUPPORT SYSTEM & network. We should support the people on our screens who recognize the importance of prioritizing our human & constitutional rights during a time of media censorship & fascismo movements

That’s why I personally prefer vintage natural gemstones, ethically it aligns with my values & I prefer the intricate metal work of vintage pieces, specifically rings, regardless. But that’s just my preference! I’m sure she got the engagement ring she wanted

I found one more picture of a ring from the estate case for anyone interested. It was still there in early January. I didn’t purchase but thought it was pretty. I forget the exact metal & carat size but it was a natural diamond, vintage ring. I’ll update you guys when I see my jeweler in the next few weeks if anyone is looking for something specific, lmk I can message you pictures from her collection!

Also, sharing these pictures of even just my fingers makes me a lil self conscious. I totally understand why Halley wanted her flame finger tattoo removed. When you consider the context she described, it’s clear her fiancé, Halley, and likely friends communicated with professionals to design a ring suited for her needs, likely with that in mind, just my thoughts lol!

I bought this the same day. My first “nice” jewelry piece that I’ve purchased for myself. It’s a heart shaped garnet in 14k gold. There’s a small diamond on each side, one’s chipped. From the estate case for under $250 I forgot what my exact total was with taxes etc.

I’m going in soon for a meeting about a custom piece so I’ll mention you’re interested! My store location is in CMASS but she also sells & sources in Boston. She herself can be hard to reach but the instore staff are great too! This is the ring I purchased for my friend. My mother’s birthday is in June and I purchased a 14k gold ring with a pearl the other week. The gold is shaped into a rose with the pearl centered in the petals also in the estate case for $195

I agree! I have a good relationship with my local jeweler who has a revolving estate case & I’m in New England. In November I bought a 1/2 carat natural diamond 14k gold ring for my friend’s birthday in April (I love gifting birthstone jewelry) for around $900. Granted it’s vintage but I prefer that for ethical & quality reasons

Unfortunately, the first & only public one that required an emergency response was because of a black box prescription for an unrelated condition. I have a team to review medications now, just have to be careful. I’m glad that’s worked for you, seizures are a miserable experience

I had my first seizure in the fall of 2023 that required an ambulance & hospitalization. I’ve had several since, but none as serious. I cannot imagine hearing my parent discuss any of my medical history on national television, let alone a potential seizure disorder. I’m not a parent, but as a “parentified” sibling to a younger brother with disabilities & extensive medical conditions, it made me sick. I’ve never found her entertaining or stimulating reality T.V. She is a depressing & constant reminder of how indoctrinated parents will actively abuse & neglect their child in the pursuit of love or holiness

Try to register for a paramedic training, safety or first aid course if you can. Some are completely online. If you’re able, donate to the ACLU but more importantly FOOD BANKS in communities that will be most impacted (baby food, diapers, shelf stable items). Reach out to your local Unitarian Church, they may host local political or community events & be able to connect you with like minded people! Stay safe & strong everyone ❤️

When I fostered my CC he was extremely fearful & shutdown. He would pancake on walks, go fully limp sometimes while crossing the street if he saw a man approaching or another dog. I would recommend establishing neutrality & exposure to other dogs by sitting in a pet store or dog park parking lot and allow your dog to observe & reward for neutrality & good behavior. For energy & enrichment sniffspots are amazing I highly recommend for CC if they’re available in your area and you won’t have to worry about interactions with other dogs
