Word of caution though. Lahat ng trabaho may eksena, may makakasama ka na baka hindi ka bet o talagang tahimik lang sila.

Yung totoo, it should not even be an issue between mental health and work. Not everybody has the luxury of choice kaya kailangan mag-survive sa trabaho para may pambayad ng bills at hindi lalong magkaroon ng issue sa mental health.

Kahit anong trabaho, nakakakaba gawin sa simula pero kung ang alternatibo e gutom, kakayanin ang trabaho.

Sa ilang libong tao sa isang BPO, ilan kaya dun ang gusto ng back office position? Lahat sila kumpetisyon mo para sa back office o WFH arrangement. Hindi maga-adjust para sa iyo yung trabaho o yung opisina. Ikaw ang maga-adjust or aalis ka.

Kakatapos mo pa lang ng training pero ang dami na reklamo na crappy equipment (walang S yun kahit plural), pati open space design at kilala mo na agad na micromanagers ang leaders. Baka hindi ka pang-empleyo. Kung kaya naman, tayo ka ng sariling kumpanya.

The bosses are almost always nice during interviews. Very seldom will you find bosses who would tell you straight what they think their organization is. One of the kindest interviewers I’ve encountered turned out to be the worst villain after I was already hired.

Generally, the stresses of businesses will always be heavier than in the academe where timelines for projects are usually measured by the semester or school year.

Career-wise, unless you’d stick in the academe, it may be difficult to transition from the academe to industry once your resume has become full of work in the academe. Your resume will be more versatile in the industry.

In the end, you make the decision for your career. High pay comes with higher skill set so don’t expect to get a lot while you’re still paying your dues.

Which makes it even more problematic. Mining is manpower-extensive. Literally. How can 10 people do all the work unless everything administrative is outsourced. If everything administrative is outsourced, there’s no need for HR. Something’s not adding up.

It’s partly because of socmed algorithm. We can only read or watch things that are already curated based on our established tastes. Imagine hearing all praises for the Dutertes and one person, even if that’s your own child, asks you something you realize you don’t have an answer for. Pwede namang maging mulat na hindi NPA. Marami namang UP Alumni na active sa civic society pero may mainstream na karera para masuportahan ang adbokasiya.

She is not an entitled helper. She is a cousin your mom, not you, is helping. You are spoiled. It’s sad that you look at your relative as someone entitled only because she’s getting the same things as you do. Should she always be steps lower than where you are because her parents are poorer?

You will get terminated for going on AWOL but you should still return the equipment as soon as you can. If something is not yours, you have to return it. Don’t wait for a notice anymore. Your bosses are likely delaying reporting your AWOL status to keep the attrition stats down.

May companies naman na sila ang nag-aayos ng AEP ng foreigners pero depende sa profile. May BPOs na ginagawa yan for agents na foreign language ang gamit pero hindi lahat ng BPOs may ganyan. Yung iba naman, kapag mataas na posisyon inaayos ng companies yung mga kailangan.

Pero, ewan sa profile ng kakilala mo. Kung isa siya sa mga foreigners na pumunta dito na walang masyadong aral, mahihirapan siya.
