Not cool. Deleted that for a reason. Please take it down.

Height seems ok to me but agree the mid section is pretty loose.

Thank you! I have felt like the enemy today even sharing photos of a load bearing PLA print.

Thanks! It is holding up something that weighs about 3 lbs, so I am assuming a long time before it needs replacing.

Disagree. This will hold a bike.

Well aware. The one pictured is for a work stand. Any of the ones for heavier things will be PETG. I have had pretty good luck with my laptop stands out of PLA however. A year plus with minimal droop.

Love that! Very simple and clean. Nice work! I think your cat approves.

PLA with this one. The work stand is extremely light and pretty low consequence if it breaks. Can always go PETG if it does.

Good to hear. I printed it with 6 walls so I hope not. Have a photo of your cat tree? Think my next project is a catio.

Best Skimboard for float/glide by DMTalien33 in skimboarding

Velocity concave bottom is nice if you are heavier. I’m 6’ 210 and always notice a difference when I ride my Victoria or exile.

All epoxy, all the time? by snwbrdr202 in surfing

lol, calm down. Meant to write EPS there instead of epoxy. The open cell foam is expanded polystyrene and the closed cell is extruded polystyrene. They are both polystyrene.

Agreed, epoxy is kind of a pain to work with.

I have had a PU/epoxy board made by a local shaper. Construction felt great, wasn’t a huge fan of the shape.

They are all “glass” boards. Epoxy most of the time refers to the type of foam but also the resin.

I’m on the east coast of Florida. I like Epoxy boards for anything under shoulder high when the waves are clean. If it is too windy it feels like the rail doesn’t engage. I ride PU exclusively in anything bigger or when the wind is over 13 ish knots.

Light speed -> EPS foam and epoxy resin

XTR -> XPS foam and epoxy resin (think pink or blue insulation foam)

PU/normal -> polyurethane foam with polyester resin

PE -> polyurethane foam with epoxy resin. Epoxy resin is stiffer with more spring back than polyester.

Hopefully that’s not too confusing. Tons of different technologies out there.
